The Anti-Gym

He was closed down by the IRS and the City and County of Denver for not paying his taxes. Packed up his shit in the middle the night and left town. In the process he through all of the paperwork and financial information for all members in a dumpster for anybody to access.

It’s kind of weird that he’s opening shop in La Jolla and San Diego though. I could see him trying to sign on the rich cougars of the La Jolla and Carlsbad areas. I don’t know how well he’ll do in the San Diego location.

La Jolla is in San Diego County.

and not all areas of San Diego are ghetto. San Diego City also includes Mission Valley and Bankers Hill.

Still,… it would be a bit interesting to have been able to observe this kind of gym. I still think Shugs would run it.

This number may work better: (619) 204-8691

I know, I’m in San Diego…county. I really don’t see this working in Mission Valley. That place is mostly renters and travelers. Hillcrest is close, but yeah, I don’t think that’d work either.

The Yelp page says it’s downtown. I could see it working down there. There’s already a bunch of nearby housing…although not all that nice. Maybe all the new highrise condo dwellers? Yeah, I could really see it working there. I was just telling someone about some half million $ bayside condos that my old company was doing escrow for. I think they were 400 square feet. It was basically a comfy place to shit and sleep when rich folk pulled their yacht into San Diego for the night. One of those owners called us when she found a $5,000 check that had been sitting in her purse for years and wanted to know if we could recut the check, but it was no biggie. So yeah, there’s definitely money in some places of San Diego City. There will be even more money downtown if Sanders gets his way with the Chargers stadium.

Well if this place turns up, I say you and I and the rest of the Diego folks give this place a try. =)

Okay, so I found out he’s not actually running a gym, but merely acting as a trainer at the World Gym on Garnet. Sadly that means there’s not much to check out unless we were there to check out his training antics. That gym is one of the few I’ve found that I’d seriously consider if it wasn’t out of my way.

I’ve been using the 24 in Rancho. Dec 18th I’ll be trying the new one in El Cajon. Supposedly it will have more stuff for people actually interested in sports. I’m not going to get my hopes too high and expect it to have a reverse hyper machine or glute ham machine… I’ve never even seen a real one out here.

So, I know this thread it old, but I just found it on google because one of my co-workers is having this guy train her. I lift at World, great gym by the way, and I’ve seen this guy train folks on a number of occasions. No cupcake throwing, just really goofy circuit style exercises that I’ve never seen before. From the new client meetings I’ve observed, he’s selling himself to fat women who don’t look like they’ve done much exercise at all. Get those folks in the gym, moving around and not eating complete shit and they’re bound to lose weight. The guy strikes me as a douche bag, mainly because he doesn’t look like he’s in all that great of shape himself. If you’re going to rag on “chubbies” and have them do really goofy shit, you should at least look like you know how to lift weights yourself.
