Thanks For Nothing FedEx

I have “hot” automotive parts coming into my department every day. UPS, Fed-X, DHL that I’m responsible for… It’s a toss up. UPS is our best shipper and DHL has the most issues. Face it. There are thousands of packages shipped out daily. For each that doesn’t make it, there are thousands that do. It doesn’t make your situation any better and it sucks but that’s just the way it is. Try shutting down a car line over a misplaced part @ 25k an hr. Talk about some heated conversations…
I gotta agree with you, in addition, they all are a pretty cool service to begin with. If I gave someone a package, an address, and $20, and told them to deliver it, there’s no way a package would get there, let alone on time (If they didn’t just laugh in my face). UPS, FedEx, and DHL do it with millions of packages and destinations everyday. But it still sucks when stuff gets lost like that.

UPS has my goat when it comes to shipping, I’ve had packages go east coast to west (through the Illinois hub, which is 20 min. away) and back to Illinois and arrive days late, when I’m not home (Fantastic idea delivering between 8 and 4.) and when I go to pick it up at the branch, they say it’ll take a day to have it “pulled” even though the ticket says I can pick it up (not when).

WOW!! That sucks donkey balls. It’s usually UPS that fucks things up for me. When I had ordered my Dell, it was still 100 degrees outside. My computer was on the local truck at 5:00 that morning. The asshats drove past my house 4 times that day before delivering it at 7:30 that night. My computer was so hot, that i put it in the deep freezer to cool off. UPS also decided that a box of supplements was also to be delivered late, and I had 3 bottles of MD60, as all 60 MD6 pills melted together, as well as 2 boxes of used-to-be-bars, but now dogshit in foil. Needless to say, UPS is low on my satisfaction index. -Starkdog
Dude, I’m sorry for your troubles but I have to say this is one of the funniest posts I’ve read on this site. Especially this, “2 boxes of used-to-be-bars, but now dogshit in foil”. ROTFLMAO… Thanks for the laughs.

FED EX sucks-I live in an apartment on the third floor and I work nights, so I’m home during the day when FED EX delivers. They never ring my intercom and they will either leave my package in the leasing office or take it back to the hub so I have to drive down and pick it up. These guys make decent money and if they’re too fuckin’ lazy to walk up three flights of stairs then they need to find a new career. FED EX should offer a discount on their shipping if I have to meet them “halfway”.

I find all these stories about FedEx crazy. Half of the shit that is being claimed here would cost a courier his/her job, and there is nothing we (the courier) could do about it. When a courier leaves a package at your door it is because the shipper or consignee did not select the signature option. Now like UPS, Fedex leaves all residential packages without a signature unless it is a high risk area or a signature is requested. I don’t know of any other shipping company that can money back guarantee a package to be delivered by 8:30 am the next day From Miami Florida to Paris France.

While I sit here an wait patiently for the Metabolic Drive Bars I ordered by USPS, about 2 weeks ago… ( I am in Canada ) I received a bill from FedEX for the LAST shipment of Metabolic Drive Bars I got, March 3rd. They tried to deliver them to my door a couple of times, I wasn’t home. So, I had to drive to the airport, where the FedEx office is, and pick them up. I paid what was on the bill at the time, a bit less than 20 bucks Canadian, if I am not mistaken. ( I tossed the bill ).

Now, today, instead of more Metabolic Drive Bars arriving, I get another bill from FedEX for the previous devlivery. $15.44 Canadian, for ‘GST’ AND ‘Advancement Fee’, whatever the fuck that is? Probably charging me $7.00 to ‘advance’ me the $7.95. Oh, and $.49 for 'GST on the Advancement Fee. I pretty much assume, that if I call and try to get this straightened out, they will explain that the bill I paid in the first place was for ‘other stuff’ and that this one is legit. This would likely be after several hours of listening to musac, running a telephone maze, and being shuffled from dept to dept.

I think, I would be best to just cut my losses, pay the fucken bill, and hope to christ that my new USPS shipment of Metabolic Drive Bars arrives soon. I am out, and jonesing, and so is the wife.

Might as well just go to the gym, and get over it, I 'spose.

Righteousness prevails !!! Well at least the Metabolic Drive Bars arrived. I was on my way out the door to the gym, and I spotted them. I have a job interview today, and this is a sign from the gods at Biotest, I think.

Never had a problem with Fedex shipping overnight to Canada. they have actually gone out of thier way to find a package that customs held for 20 days. After a few calls they were calling me to keep me posted.

I order overnight express from the US and get the package in less that 20 hours. Actually boggled my mind how effecient they are.

K.

The timing on this thread could not be worse. I JUST THIS MORNING had a very important package shipped to me overnight. I am going to go hyperventilate into a brown bag for a few hours

Since I was about 11 I have been ordering things through catologs and I have never had any trouble with my orders arriving until this year. I have had trouble with Fed Ex, UPS and USPS. Fed Ex keeps delivering packages to the apartment complex next door. So I switched my mailing address to my office. I was expecting an order from Biotest one day and when I left for lunch I saw the Fed Ex guy deliverying a package to house next door. After he left I went over and checked it out and sure enough it was my package.

UPS missed delivered our wedding album that was handmade and cost about $300. We had to file a claim but they never called back when they said they would. Finally a week later a neighbor down the street called to tell us she had our package. With the regular mail we are always getting mail from streets that are blocks away.

Makes me wonder how much mail we’ve lost during the past year. Our neighbors have the same problem and made the mistake of complaining. They didn’t recieve any mail for about a month because the carrier was mad at them for complaining. I also had a problem with switching my mailing address the last time I moved. They somehow combined my new address with my old address. So the street didn’t exisit so I wasn’t getting my mail. Lucky I pay my credit cards on line so I didn’t have any late fees.

I realize there companies deal with a very high volume of deliveries so a 5-10% rate of mis-delivery is probably considered good. It just seems like resently they are hiring some incompitent people.

I’ve heard good things about DHL too. Biotest should switch carriers.

I have a similar beef. 2 days ago I came home to $150 worth of Grow! and Alpha Male sitting outside of my apartment door. My apartment is the type when you walk out the door, you’re outside. So basicly I had my Biotest order sitting outside untill I got home at 8 that night. Luckily nothing was stolen.
When you place your order on the web site, you can check a box at the bottom that tells FedEx to leave your package at the door or require a signature.

If you live in an apartment, typically, if you are not home, they will leave your package in the leasing office. But you may want to check with your leasing agent to see what their policy is.

I’ve had mixed results. Both Canada Post and USPS have beat the hell out of packages on me. Mark it “fragile”, and it’s like they go out of their way to stomp on it. Art supplies? Hell, yeah! It’s frickin’ flamenco time!

UPS has never done me wrong (so far), but FedEx is on my shitlist. Desperate for some files to finish a critical project for work, the office does next-day delivery of some sensitive materials that aren’t meant to be seen by other eyes.

What does the driver do? Leaves it on my fucking doorstep! Doesn’t even ring the goddamned doorbell to see if I was home (which I was)… he just dumps the package and leaves. Only God knows how long it was sitting there before I finally discovered it.

Another time in a similar situation, he delivered it to my neighbour’s door. At least he had them sign for it, and my neighbour’s a decent fellow so handed it over as soon as he saw me. But, once again, they didn’t even ring the damned doorbell! How screwy is that? I’m home, I’m waiting, and he rings the neighbour’s bell instead? Is he freakin’ blind? Does my condo radiate an aura of unmistakeable evil, driving off timid FedEx drivers?

if you need overnight in cali. i can assure you you won’t be unhappy with our service or our price. the only thing is that we don’t go out of california, arizona, nevada. seriously, the cost would be about half(if not less) than that of the cheapest big firm. we normally deal only with buisness’, but i would be willing to help any t-members that need it. we pick-up from your door, and deliver next day. if you need an exact delivery time, we can narrow it down to about an hour. pm me if you interested.

NOTE: I WON’T SHIP ANYTHING I KNOW TO BE ILLEGAL.

Ive worked for both Fedex and UPS.

Fedex is better.

Although its also alot more expensive, Im suprised Biotest doesnt ship DHL because I know for a fact it will be cheaper.

FedEx irritates me. I was trying to complete an important project and had to have the last remaining part overnighted to my home (the original part was inop). The FedEx courier was too lazy to drive up my driveway. Instead, he places the package in my mailbox. The mailman doesn’t like finding FedEx shipped packages in a mailbox. He has the package returned to sender.

I call FedEx and the woman on the phone says, “What do you want me to do about it?” I lost it. How about firing the courier for one?

In the end, FedEx did nothing and I had to pay shipping again! Plus, I missed my deadline.

Another time, I had a glass sliding door shipped via FedEx Freight. They tore the door up pretty good. It took 4 months to resolve the issue. The whole time I had a house with a huge hole in it. Again FedEx denied responsibility even though the damage was noted when the carrier got it to the job site.

I had my wife’s birthday present shipped via FedEx (only choice the vendor gave me). I called FedEx and told them to please leave the package at the regional location and I would pick it up there. I was assured the item would not be put on the truck and that I had called early enough for the request to be fulfilled.

I went to FedEx to pick up the package. It was on the truck out for delivery. But, because nobody was home, they did not deliver the package. I asked about the request not to have the package put on the truck. She checked her computer records and said, “Yep, that is right here. Do you want me to have the driver turn around and try to redeliver the package?”

No, because I am standing right in front of you. NOBODY IS HOME! THAT IS WHY I MADE THE REQUEST IN THE FIRST PLACE!

FedEx has screwed up almost every single order that has come to my home address. I believe it has to be the local Sumter, SC office that is so messed up.

I use FedEx for all of my sample shipments and they have performed flawlessly each time. I ship about a thousand pounds of material a month via priority overnight and never have an issue.

I ship a 12 ounce computer part home and all hell breaks loose.

LOL! If it’s any consolation, you have relieved a small % of my work stress from the artful telling of your story. My sympathies.

As for those shitbirds at the USPS:

When I was living in an apartment and a friend was staying with me temporarily for a month, he had his mail forwarded to my address, but it wasn’t showing up in my mailbox. Thinking it might be an oversight, we left notes taped to my mailbox, basically stating, “put mail for (friend’s name) here!”.

When that didn’t work, we actually waited the mail carrier out on a Saturday and asked him what the fuck? The old turd said that because my friend’s name wasn’t on my mailbox, he couldn’t deliver to it, even though it had MY address and both of us were standing right there, showing picture ID!

Forget the fact that all kinds of bullshit with my address and someone else’s name on it showed up in there all the time.

Since my job at the time required me to pick up bulk mail at the post office 5 days a week, I had a good raport with the people I interracted with and I inquired about this odd practice. He looked at me funny and said, “huh? Mail gets delivered to an address, not a name!”. I reported the senile old fart of a mail carrier and my friend finally got all the mail that had been building up all week.

Oh, and a few years ago I got my college degree bent in half and shoved into my mail box while inside an envelope with red ink “DO NOT BEND” stamps all over it. Big fun!

As someone who has been a fedex courier, I can tell you this - Don’t blame the couriers. Most are pushed well beyond the limits by upper management to get in so many deliveries/pickups in so much time. Most of the issues with fedex have to do with upper management trying to squeeze productivity out were they arent gonna find it. The amount of stops per hour most couriers have is ridiculous. Trust me, there is a reason why you dont see to many fat UPS and Fedex guys - most of them are on the run all day long. Its a bitch of a job. It also tought me this - if you see a fedex truck, stay out of the way.

for the record, my package that i posted about yesterday got delivered safe, sound and on time by the usps
