Tattoos and Hypertrophy

You know, I’ve had a question about something close to this for a while but since its already a thread right here it doesn’t seem like a reason I should make another.

Lets say a guy wants a inner bicep tattoo but his inner bicep is bottom fat and when he loses weight he doesn’t want the tattoo to, per-say, go on the other side of his arm.

Should he get the entire bicep done or should he just focus on the top area and avoid the bottom fat?

P.S. Thats totally not my arm, just showing the pic so you guys can see the “bottom fat” as I call it.

WTF ahhahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH COUGH CHOKE AHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Come ON guys I know it the season to start drinking early but come ONNN. Do guys really worry about this shit THIS MUCH???

How do you guys train just after getting your tattoo. Do take a 1, 2, 5 day break and then train that muscle or change the type of exercise? I realise the skin is still forming fresh after a tattoo but curious to hear how you guys have trained around it?

I have two, the most recent one was on my quad and I didn’t train it for almost a week, then leg press, then eventually squats again, I was just wondering if fear was unwarranted. Will probably get torso or arm ones next year.
A week seems a little excessive. I would say the first couple of days since you are stilling putting ointment on it while it heals. I’ve worked out the day after and it seemed fine. As long as the area that was tattooed isn’t being rubbed against a machine or bench or something.
A whole week off because of a tattoo?

Hell, I didn’t take a full week off after the accident.

hungry4more wrote:
Lol @ time off after getting ink. The day after getting my first torso ink, I was doing BB Rows with a belt. Yeah it hurt, but it didn’t affect the tattoo, and who gives a shit. I could understand taking a couple days off from anything that might mess with the area hard, like back squats with an upper back tat in your case, but you’re seriously worrying WAYYY too much man.
Thanks guys I shall be more adventurous next time around

I am at work, 460 is probably chilling at Barnes and Noble.

We are both old and been around the block.

Life is to short to get this wrapped up in the fine details.

Relax get some Ink and enjoy. Just make sure it means something to you.

best post.

In fact, unless your reason for getting one includes, “I don’t give a fuck, I’m getting one now!”, don’t get one.

If you have 500 different scenarios to run through before you decide to get one, you aren’t cut out for a tat in the first place and are likely just a trend follower.

OP if you go and pick one off the wall, I will personally hunt you down.

Dont be that guy. Barb wire and Tribal bands are for frat boys and drunk skanks.

I am posting from a Iphone at the mall…good call.

I got you on the Iphone locator.

Morphed, no.

Faded, yes.

I just recently had my first shoulder tattoo re-done because it was so faded (had it done before I started lifting/eating).

Good thing you didn’t check last week, I kicked it over a car.

Pics and Names…Many moons ago in a part of TX I hooked up with a Amazing fine azz woman.

Got some alone time and when she got naked she had a pic of her little girl on her chest…right below her shoulder…I couldn’t follow thru.

Man I don’t want to be looking down a a pic your kid when I’m about to do things to her mom that I would be sent to jail for in 30 countries. Great Art work though.

Names…Same scene but in Florida looking down at this womans chest I had to ask…who is johnny, she said what I said you have johnny written on your tit. Oh he is my husband he is in jail…

Yeah, Names and Pics think hard before you do those. And the placement may also factor in

This may have more to do with who did it instead of lifting/eating comment.

How old is it?

All tats fade unless you are extremely pale. Mine almost can’t be seen in pictures now unless up close.

QFT. I have been married to my wife now for 13 years and I have her name on my calf and she has mine on her ankle. But this was a long, long discussion and thought before I did it.

Had a friend of my brothers who became an artist, traveled to all the places Cali, Austin etc. Had some discussions about this when he was doing my sleeve, it took 14 hours so we had the time.

A lot of it has to do with the type of ink they use, how deep they put it and of course skin tone.

That was why I was asking how old? All my old ones I ended getting cover ups. So never could see if they faded.

It was pretty old (about 15 years), but it’s been faded for a long time.

Yeah, could be because of other factors, just saying. I always liked to think it was because I got SOOOOOO huge that it screwed with the pigmentation or something.

I could have done any kind of cover up but wanted it the same, only with darker colors.

Also, I’m extremely pale, and all detail was gone. I guess it does depend on the actual quality of the tattoo and tattooist.

The Sun will fade the ink for sure, always use sun screen to preserve the colors.

Was it black or did it have color?

Black and red. The red was almost all gone.

Now it’s all black (except for the eyes, which are red).

I predict OP will neither get big enough to stretch a tattoo or even GET a tattoo.
