So are you pumped for your new Coach and QB?
Extremely, the aim for the year should be 10-6 and a wild card spot. Anything lower than 8-8 would be disappointing. The defense has the potential to be to be top 10 and should certainly be top 15. I think JC will thrive in big Andy’s offense. Chris Ault’s presence should be a big bonus too.
anything less than 8-8 would be a disappointment, with a goal of 10-6? You went 2-14 last year. Those are ridiculously high expectations. You guys must have a lot of kool-aid to drink around there. I’ll make a 50 dollar side bet with you against the Chiefs having a winning record this year.
We have the 2nd most dangerous running back in the league, a young talented O-line, a QB who won’t turn the ball over everytime he touches it which killed us last year in every game before we got started.

On defense we have a top 5 secondary with the additions. Brandon Flowers is an elite corner, Eric Berry one year removed from injury will be a top 5 safety. Derrick Johnson is a top 5 ILB. In Hali and Houston we have one of the best pass rushing duos in the league. If we can get some solid play out of our D-line we should be a very effective defense.

Last year we were hamstrung by one of the worst coaching performances of all time and a very negative atmosphere in the franchise led by Pioli. The individual talent is there it just needs someone to bring it together. I think Andy Reid is that man.
You had the same RB last year. Alex Smith has the same bust-potential that Cassell did. Smith was pretty shitty for quite awhile before Harbaugh. Don’t forget Cassell looked pretty damn good with the right system/coach. The defensive players you listed were there last year. I just don’t see how you can think the head coaching change is going to turn a 2-14 team to a 10-6 team in a year.
Well cause there has been precedence of that actually happening. Parcells did it in Miami.

I think KC has a shot of at least an 8-8 season, they made good football moves and Andy Reid is a hell of a coach. Cause in the NFL coaching matters.

I think the problem last year was we got off to a very negative start and things snowballed from there. Romeo was completely over his head. Watch his post game press conferences they are an utter embarrassment. The players had no faith in him. Andy Reid will get a lot more out of these guys. If we can start the season 2-2, we play Jags, Giants, Eagles and 'Boys we are in with a real shout.
Individually we had some excellent performers last year. Unfortunately at the most important position on the field we were historically bad. Anyway if you can’t have faith in the team you support what’s the point?

Yea Flip you disappeared halfway through the season.
No point in continuing when you start 1-7. That’s the first team I’ve ever quit on. Won’t happen again.
Respect for the league. Not setting your lineups because you have a losing record is Busch League man.
Gotta agree here. Nothing worse than members who just go inactive halfway through the season.

Even if your record is shitty you can always upset a couple other teams.

Beans, cut the bullshit. You will be in the league, this is obvious.

Also, I’m in.

Pls. My team was god awful. Awful draft, awful trades.

QBs: Matt Ryan, Josh Freeman
RBs: DMC, Darren Sproles, Vick Ballard, Bryce Brown
WRs: Danario Alexander, Denarius Moore, Antonio Brown
TEs: Gronkowski, Gates

I believe I made an awful trade… gave away Andre Johnson, got garbage.

qbs: rivers and dalton
rbs: dwyer, kendall hunter, demarco murray, mcgahee
wr: fitzgerald, cobb (my only decent player on the entire team), nicks, britt
te: Cook

I looked back at my matchups for the season after I quit, and even if I had made perfect decisions, I would have only won 1 game. So quitting was not impactful on the league. The players I left in were probably the players I would have rolled with anyway. fitz and nicks had horrible years, rivers fell off the maps, my top rbs both got hurt, shitty TE, etc. Absolute garbage team aside from Cobb.

KC (and any other team) certainly has a shot at 8-8. My point is that would be the exception, not the rule. Red said anything less than that would be a disappointment. And I don’t think they have any sort of shot at 10-6 whatsoever. If I had to put money on a specific number of wins, it would be 5.

I’m into it again. I need to make a sign and place it above my computer screen that say’s “NO MORE HOMER PICS YOU DUMB FUCK” lol.

Unless…

For me personally after weighing up the strength of our schedule, the coaching and playing additions and the fact that I think we were one of the most talented teams to go 2-14 in the time I’ve been watching football, I will be disappointed if we don’t hit the .500 mark. Is there a possibilty we finish 6-10 or 7-9? Sure but I also think with one or two breaks eg no major injuries those records could be flipped.

Im in as usual. I will be in 2 ways, my usual championship contender role and the Jew who controls the money…

The other thing, Flip I like you but you cant become an absentee owner, it effects potential playoff seating and the integrity of the league. So anyone who is having a shit season, at the very least make sure you put in a lineup, free of injured players or players on a bye.

I appreciate the sentiment. Like I said, I ran the numbers for my best case scenarios, and it wouldn’t have altered any playoff scenario, and it would have altered my own record by 1 win. And that’s assuming I actually made the right choices. I’ve played in over 50 leagues in the last 10 years, and this is the first team I’ve abandoned. I can promise you it’s an anomaly and won’t happen again.

My other league- last place had to pay an additional $20 so everyone would make sure they didn’t sand bag the rest of the season.

I played 2 years ago but missed last year. I’m on the fence about doing this. I already run 3 in leagues

I have been in this spot a few times, my whole goal is to fuck things up as much as possible. Meaning still try to win especially against people that are going into the playoffs.

Very cool idea. You would have to trust everyone in the league to pay if they are in last place. The only other way I can see doing it is everyone puts up an extra $20 upfront. At the end of the season, everyone gets it back except the last place winner.

Derek did WC agree to be commish? I saw where you asked him on G+ but forgot if he mentioned he would or not.
