No, however, that’s not something I’ve experienced since starting trt. Anxiety with low E2 yes but never any heart palps unless anxious.
I hit a few days of 60 mg last week, libido was thru roof but body acne came out. Went down to 45 then 50 then acne disappeared.
Very dialed in right now
I switched to eod about 2 weeks ago. I feel like my energy and strength in the gym went up a tad, but erections are lowered and libido is not there. I’m at 30mg eod.
My e2 must be lowered and I’m wondering if my libido needs less sporadic shots, like weekly. Seems like for me, libido happens (if at all) at higher e2. But then energy and work outs suffer.
Seems like: lowered e2 is good for mental clarity and workouts, but bad for libido. Higher e2 seems better for libido but not so much anything else.
What was your originally prescribed “weekly” dose? 30mg EOD equates to 105mg weekly. Is that more or less than your prescribed dose?
Obviously we are different, but when I went from 60mg every 3.5 days to 34mg EOD, it took more than 2 weeks for me to adjust. I went into a little funk for a bit, but then it just started to feel better. I’d say give it a little more time to let the half lives build up?
As @physioLojik has mentioned in previous posts, he recommends to his patients to switch up the dosing so the body doesn’t reach a steady state, which apparently has many benefits, including increased libido and energy… So I’ve actually varied my EOD dosing as well going from 34mg to 36mg to 40mg and back down to 34mg and kind of rinse and repeat. I usually stay at one dose for at least 2-3 weeks before changing.
I’ve noticed at 40mg, I get bad acne on my back and have difficulty fully emptying my bladder and a weak stream (sorry for tmi), but I have tremendous energy and chase my wife around like I was 18.
Dropping down to 34mg, I still have energy, but less acne, can pee better and don’t have the urge to chase my wife constantly.
I attribute the acne and weak stream (BPH) due to increased DHT, but that is merely speculation.
All of this while only taking test cyp - no HCG or any AI what so ever. My Dr thinks estrogen is good for men and doesn’t want to even test E2 unless I start getting gyno. I’ve asked in 3 separate occasions and he said no to testing E2.
You could certainly increase the dose, but it will still take some time for the half lives to build up. Better to wait a little more in your current dose so you don’t accidently blow past your sweet spot as half lives build - but that’s just my opinion.
Just wanted to give you guys an update. I’ve been 40mg EOD subq for about 3 weeks now. I think I learned that I may need a lower dose after this experiment. For the first couple of weeks after switching, when I should expect a dip, I had a lot of erections and I felt a bit better. It was great! Now that I should be leveling off on the new regiment, my erections disappeared and I feel off. I think I’m going to try lowering to 35 eod and see where that gets me.
It was mentioned a couple of times here that varying the dose has good effects, but I’m not sure if it was the change that did it or just the fact that T was lower for a little while that did it. I’m scared to experiment because I’m taking a difficult science course right now and I’d hate to feel off for a length of time, but I feel like it’s the right thing to do based on the experience I had. So I guess I’m taking the plunge!
