I think there are some very good suggestions. If I was lifting strictly to get stronger and I was on a tight budget. The supplements I would use-
Pre workout drink:
That includes a good amount of amino acids and quick digesting carbs like dextrin.
Post workout drink:
That includes at least 20g of high quality protein and at least 40 grams of very quick carbs like maltodextrin. It should also be a drink you can take in during your workout.
Good fats:
Fish oil, flax see, CLA. Make sure its a good fish oil though. Biotest, Black Star Labs, or Genuine health make good ones.
And if the budget was really tight Id make sure my pre workout meals were perfect and stick with the post workout drink plus the fish oil.
The last thing to cut out is the fish oil. Its just too important.
Also, this should be a no brainer, but probably the best and most important thing to do is get hydrated. AT LEAST half your body weight in ounces of water per day, and 8 oz. for every pound of body weight lost during the workout and that should be taken in directly after the workout.
