Summing up GW Bush

Homosexuality is just a “boogie-man” made to scare conservatives. It doesn’t affect anyone other than homosexuals themselves.

See!

You’re funny ZEB. I was just trying to point out how offended and upset people get about homosexuality. Who cares?

It amazes how liberals get labeled hate-filled and eternally negative(although, on this forum I can sometimes see how people think that, but I tend to think it’s because of the current prez; if we were still in the Clinton era I think the attitudes of this forum would be reversed), but one mention of homosexuality or abortion and conservatives are ready to go to war.

Like I said; if it’s not my baby and it’s not my asshole, who freakin’ cares?

Although I am not a fan of Bush, I admit that this was a stupid post. Normally I try to support what I post with articles or books, or with the application of logic. This thread contained none of it, and I deserved the backlash I received.

Vegita, you made a good point that I have observed about great leaders…from politicans…to coaches…to athletes. And this is one reason why conservatism has appealed to me over the years: Great leaders and coaches and athletes are positive; they see the best in every situation…and they have a deep faith in God. Some examples include Reagan, Bush, Coach Tom Landry, Don Shula, Roger Staubach, Ronnie Coleman, Abraham Lincoln, General Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, JRR Tolkien…the list goes on and on. This is where liberalism fails. Its a NEGATIVE MINDSET; devoid of any faith in God or people. The commentary of the liberal posters on this here forum back up these truths. These people are VERY negative, and most of them are confirmed atheists or agnostics with no real convictions about the reality of a “higher power”.
I must suck being them…so focused on the negative. And I bet even their physiques reflect this.

ptrdr the above was from your last post. I must ask you is this a Fruedian slip? Being that you are well educated in this realm what is your answer?

Ptrdr, one can be an optimist without a deep faith. You have to realize, sitting on the other side of the fence being called sackless, unpatriotic, poopy-pants and so on is also quite a negative thing. I don’t see a lot of positive thinking or tactics in much of any political debate, yourself included.

lumberjak,

You wrote: “ahh can’t wait til the new T-Nation comes out and i can ignore the stupid bullshit political threads that all say the same shit over and over.”

Why would anyone pay attention to politics? What a waste of time! It just affects everything we do or say. Politics affects the economy, our free speech, our security, and on and on. Again, your ability to post this freely is due to a bunch of great men/women deciding to allow you freedom of speech.

I think nearly everyone who participates in these political forums takes their civic duty to vote very seriously. We may repeat common themes, but I’ve found this information very interesting. Even the people I disagree with on most issues usually have something to say (with the exception of Elk’s recent turn toward negativity).

Jeff

I am amazed that out of all the guys who chimed in to rag on me for this post, not one ackowledged my retraction. Here’s your chance. I am admitting I was wrong. I am eating crow. Rub it in!

I find the forum’s labeling of liberals as mean-spirited and negative quite interesting in light of the commercials each presidential candidate is running.

Look at Kerry’s commercials – like him or not, he is trying to define himself and offer a positive reason to vote for him, one might even say a vision of hope or a better America (U.S. job protection, bigger military, repeal of tax cuts for the wealthy).

Then look at Bush’s commmercials. Attack ads on Kerry with “facts” for which their own people admit they have no proof. He also offers messages of fear and danger (terrorism & war). He is basically saying “it’s a scarry world out there and only I can protect you.” No hope, no better America, just fear.

You might not agree with your fellow posters, and you might hate each other’s candidates, but look at what each candidate is saying about himself through his ads.

You may or may not like Bush…Has he made mistakes?? probably… who hasent… another 4 years of BUSH will be as day is to night… Kerry is a P.O.S… IMAGINE Kerry getting a purple heart cause he scratched himself, and had friends in gov.even back then(kennedys) who bitched and complained and got him the purple heart that HIS COMMANDING OFFICER REFUSED to put him in for… What shit… OH YEAH… What a President he would make !!!

BIGROCK-
Imagine Bush flying dangerous missions to Florida avoiding flocks of migrating geese in the worlds most dangerous aircraft. While other Pilots were flying relatively safe missions in ultra safe jet planes over the skies of Vietnam trying to outmaneuver and avoid SA-2 missiles and migs many of them being put up at the luxurious Hanoi Hilton!

Imagine with all of the money and resources of the right them being able to find only one 70 some yr. old Republican former officer that can remember seeing Bush in Alabama! Gee… I wonder if he doesn’t have ulterior motives? I will bet fellow officers can remember seeing John Mcain at the Hanoi Hilton or John Kerry on the Mekong Delta!

Why do people focus on the purple hearts… what about his other medals? Besides, if you are willing to read you can find good accounts of his actions at the time. Morons.
