i have developed a love afair with Waxy Maize Starch as my workout training boosting provideer of fast acting carbs giving good energy bursts.

I use it during Muay Thai and strength training.

Though due to a bout of depression i haven’t trained for a week :frowning:

But i’m back hardcore this week :smiley:

And i had my first Muay Thai class since my operation today! :smiley:

And i feel TWICE as strong and fast and good as i EVER did -and i’m on NO AAS - and my muscles aren’t tight or nothink :smiley: :smiley:

However, i find that a combination of maltodextin/dextrose was just as good as fuelling me as WMS, which i feel may be a con. But i ordered 2.5kg of it and i have to get through the fucking packet.

Yea I always have a shake before I train but have never mixed it with gatorade. If I drink gatorade during workouts or running I have to mix it half and half with water because it is just to sugary and I get cramps.

I may have to check out this waxy maize starch that you speak of Wyldflower.

ummm, i could have sworn by waxy maize starch, but i did a google half-way after posting my above post and seems a lot of marketing hype.

maltodextrin/dextrose mix is probably best IMO.

Todays workout went exactly as I had pictured it. At first I didn’t think I was going to be able to move the weight that I did but thats gear for you. I’m tellin you, at this point I feel like my avatar. I did chest with a quick little tri exercise at the end.

Bench Press: 5x5 (275, 285, 295, 315, 330!!!) I felt like making a jump and wasn’t sure i’d get all 5 but sure enough I did.

ALT Inlcine DB press: 3x8 (95, 95, 100) again didn’t know if i’d get the hundo’s but i got all of them.

DB flyes w/ swiss ball: 3x10 65lbs

Tricep press down: 2x12 210lbs

A great day all in all. The Plyos really kicked my tail and I really am enjoying some time off of my feet tonight. I feel like my prego girlfriend. Shoulders and legs morning and night and no running thank goodness.

It looks like you’re making great progress, brother, and I hate to sidetrack your thread… But I’m super curious about Saps’ and RG’s recipe for Hydrolyzed protein and gatorade shakes. Are you guys just ordering straight protein unflavored from TrueProtein or some place like that?

I order bulk supplies of PeptoPro, WMS, etc. from a UK site that I won’t name (but any UK forum users can probably guess who it is). The hydrolysed products are always unflavoured. I’ve punished myself with unflavoured products before, and indeed I find BCAAs and Leucine easy to get down without flavouring (some people find the taste unbearable, I’m fortunate I think), but the PeptoPro is simply too bitter tasting for me to use without some sort of flavouring.

I’ve found that ordering Gatorade powder in bulk is a good solution to this problem. I use a scoop of the powder, which works out at about 40g dry weight, with the following ingredients: 20g PeptoPro, 5-10g creatine, 5-10g leucine, 80g WMS, (sometimes I add Palatinose). The amounts vary depending on whether it’s a med/high carb day etc. I put in a shaker with as much water as I can get in (about 500ml+). I drink some of the mix before I train (really depends how much time I have), and as I sip on it at the gym, I keep adding water to the mix.

Well I have been on a little bit of a hiatus the past few days. Got into a monster fight with my lovely girlfriend which took its toll on life, but all is well now and I’m back at it. I didn’t post my last weeks back or shoulder workouts which both took place on thursday, a morning and afternoon lift. Took the weekend off, I threw out my back a little bit doing DB rows but the rest healed everything all up.

Yesterday I had my chest day which I made some very good gains in that department. I was doing my usual 5x5 bench press and thought I was only adding 5 pounds to each side but accidentally put 10’s on each side ( they were on the wrong rack and I just failed to check). So my workout ended up being 315,315,335,335,350 Only got 4 by myself on the last one but it was still good considering I wasn’t planning on going that high to begin with. I had my very last sprint workout before I leave town which also went very well, its hard to tell whether or not the results I want are coming just because the workouts are always getting harder but we will see what it translates into in about a week.

In about a week I will be gone for the remainder of my cycle so I am not sure how I am going to put the post cycle pics since I used my girlfriends camera for the before pics and she won’t be with me. I might either have to do them early or see how well this mac takes pics.
