Ha. I’ve been close to her.
That’s right. That’s actually the image that popped into my mind, but it was you, 2Busy, not the Dwarf.

For what it’s worth, that’s about as close as I ever got to Gwen Stefani. No pictures, more’s the pity, because she wasn’t GWEN FUCKING STEFANI then, just a cute twenty-year old brunette from Orange County with a great voice who was fronting for this ska band in that happened to be playing in the Free Speech area at USC called “No Doubt”.

What was Eric Cressey’s most recent humble-brag?

You and Irondwarf look like you could be related.

Yeah. That’s what confused me. I had that image of Shirley in my mind, transposed 2Busy and Iron Dwarf in my memory, and couldn’t remember whether whoever posted the pic had claimed to have slept with her or not.

So you see, On Edge, my memory is not infallible.

However, I do remember what name you posted under before you became On Edge.

Randy Newman

Been a while but I thought irondwarf said he was testing the waters back in the 70’s & possibly slept with Alice Cooper. Its fuzzy, so I might not have all the facts straight.

Oh, fuck if I know. When’s the last time Eric was even on the forums, let alone was in a thread that I participated in? Methinks you’re disregarding your own rule there, my friend.

And Jewbacca, that was hilarious.

Small world. I was staying at a hotel, years ago, in Houston called the Magnolia Hotel (I think). It was right after the Enron collapse and I was deeply involved in various transactions, along with a bunch of other lawyers. Anyway, whatever little hotel that is right across the street from where Enron was.

We went to the bar (it’s a very small hotel, like 25 rooms) to have a drink and began talking with the 2 other people there, intending to go to bed.

The two end up being Gwen Stephani and her husband. We had no idea who they were. They told us they were going to sing “next door” which turned out to be some giant convention center. They gave us backstage passes, and they were very cool, so we went.

Giant concert — not what we were expecting, at all.

By far the oldest people there, dressed in suits.

I think people thought we were Israeli security.

My daughters were seriously impressed.

Tsk tsp, you don’t read the training articles? Eric had an article on front page yesterday. Maybe you have oldtimers and you can remember 5 years ago as clear as a bell but not a thing about yesterday?

It seems to me Push has spoken up in more threads than Varq, with all due respect.
Shit, I don’t have his memory.
You sure seem to have a great memory where music’s concerned!
You frequently reference and post some old music vid when appropriate to the topic or point at hand.
Tunes roll through my head constantly. Something’s always playing in the background inside my cranium. It can even be annoying at times.
I can totally relate. Sometimes my wife will say something (that sounds like a lyric in an old song), and I end up singing it aloud. She’s never impressed.

Old music (like a particular scent) takes me back down memory lane like nothing else.

Actually, I didn’t know that article existed until you mentioned it just now.

But here you go.

“I really should have been deadlifting 575 pounds instead of the 600 I pulled three times. It was slightly too slow to really take advantage of the PAP effect.”

Correct.

Blatant humblebrag. Just my style.

Precisely.

Do you remember that HBO show, “Mind of the Married Man?” Principal character, Mickey Barnes, always had TV and movie clips running through his head in almost every circumstance in his life.

That’s what happens to me with music.
Tell us a story then… Here is your muse.
