We are knocking our NBA team because they can’t shoot blah blah blah, that’s beside the point. Individually, theses guys rock, granted they aren’t tier one, but come on, I’d take just about any of them in a game of 1v1 against anybody from any other nation.

dirk nowiztki… he torched tim duncan during the season, and nobody else on the olympic team, with the except of boozer can really play deffense, esp not against them, he also torched the us team during intl competition
i’d take him before i took anybody else on this olymypic team
I think the arrogance of current Team USA isn’t a new phenomenom…Ever since 92’ every Olympic USA ball team has expected to win without any trouble. Don’t get me wrong they are always without a doubt the most talented. However, they seem to forget that basketball is a team sport and the lack of preparation as a team will be the reason for their demise. It may not be in this olympics, but if the US basketball team doesn’t start having some sort of team prep for the olympics they will soon lose their golden streak.
I just read in the NYT that since 1936, the US team hds only 2 losses. In these last 2 weeks, the current team has MATCHED THAT. Wow.
Talk about motivation for emphasizing defense and shooting.
To whoever was complaining that I should be proactive and coach:

don’t get high and mighty on me. THere are a million things that should be changed in this world for the better and that are more imp’t than hoops- what are YOU doing to make the world a better place?

I actually HAVE applied to be a b-ball (and volleyball) coach for my junior HS, and will find out in the next week or so whether I will get the position. If I do, I’m nervous because of the responsibility but I’ll step up to the challenge and do everything I can to prepare myself to be a good coach. (Hopefully somebody w/ experience can be the head coach and I can assist since I have no organized b-ball experience)
Besides the white guys we mentioned as being great shooters but not necessarily great players, what is the name of that fat black guy, I think he played for the Nets, who’s a great 3 point shooter?
He can’t play D and he’s real slow, but he’s a very good shooter?
Rodney Rogers?
Michael Redd is not white.
But, I’m not sure who the fat, black guy is you’re talking about.
Explanation: I meant those white guys on the Bulls teams of the 90s.
Tony Kukoc & Steve Kerr are the only white Bulls guys I can remember who can shoot

Irk(no D in his name because he has no D in his game) never torched tim duncan. A couple of plays dont mean nothing. How can you say besides boozer no one can play d? Tim duncan has been all defensive team how many years in a row since being a rook? Oh yeah he owns the record.
Dude just say you like dirk and hes your favourite player & that hes a rare, unbelivebly gifted player as he is a seven footer who can actually score from all over the floor, but saying hes better than duncan is crazy. Theres a reason the spurs always come out on top and dirks team doesnt, even though dirk has more help. Its simply duncan is twice the player dirk is.
samsmarts,
I couldn’t have said it better myself, that post has been bothering me for a while. That is foolish to take Dirk, his name is NEVER mentioned when talking about the best players in the world. (But he is still a good player.)
splkast
He’s a great player and a great choice to build your team around. ( The Sports Guy: Trade value, Part 2 - ESPN Page 2 )
But only if duncan, kg, tmac etc are not available.
