Half the kids in Detroit could be gone for a week before anybody noticed. They’re raised on the street.
I’m sorry guys, I didn’t realize the video wasn’t coming through. Thank you Tiribulus for reposting it ![]()
About the video, I understand where parents are coming from when they say to punch the guy in the nose and all that, I agree, I would tell my kid the same thing. But the message me and my friends were trying to get across in the video was the actions of the by stander. Some kids just don’t have the heart to punch another kid in the face, and in situations where a kid just can’t protect himself, I think it’s the bystanders job to step in, not just watch. I think that by standing by, you are provoking the bully to continue bullying. The message was for everyone to take a stand against bullying, not just the Victims.
Thank you everyone for contributing to the topic.
Here in Detroit I would tell the bystander to anonymously inform someone who is able to handle it lest he have his head shot off. Your point however is well taken and I AM with you on this issue. Bullying is an ugly manifestation of human depravity. Like I say, I have significantly revised my views.
angrychicken: I beat the ever loving crap out of some kids that picked on me in HS; it helped sometimes but not with all of them. Fightin can work, but it isn’t a promised solution (particularly when kids are older).
I’d have to agree with the idea that kids now seem to have a harder time getting away from bullying than I did (and I’m not even 30). It makes me nervous for my son TBH–both because I don’t want him exposed to some of that shit and because I’m worried if he does what I did he’d go to jail nowdays.

And that’s one reason that Detroit is a stinky smelly ghetto.
