Yeh, I posted it so everyone can see that some large media outlets are actually taking a reasonable stance on the issue. I get so sick of hearing that one kids parents tell everyone, including congress, that steroids killed his son. As if his son was not responsible for his own actions and he just assumed his son’s enormous muscle gain in a short period of time was without chemical help.
Sure steroids can be dangerous and even possibly have very bad long-term side effects if abused or taken to excess but then again so can twinkies. Like i said, it is just nice to see someone approaching the issue with an objective stance. i hope everyone will get a chance to see this.
They are a psychological drug. That said taking them in a time when you aren’t full developed, your natural hormones are flutuating greatly, is a TERRIBLE IDEA.
IT’s extremely common for young adults to lack the foresight and ability to judge what’s going on other then the what’s right in front of them.
Combine that with the pressures, adversity, and just overall difficulty with becoming an adult THEN throw in ANY DRUG: Acid, Alcohol, Large amount of pot, heroin, coke, and even though the government doesn’t want to say so all your SSRI’S and the likelyness you make a very rash decision like kill yourelf is high.
Is it sad that the young man mention killed himself? Of course. Fact what’s more sad is that his parents are left with nowhere else to point there fingers so they turned to AAS. THis happens ALLL the time with alcohol but I don’t see that becoming illegal, but you do have to be an “adult” to buy it.
