Is there a “steroid look?” i heard recently that you can tell if someone has taken steroids because their traps are bigger than everything else proportionately because the traps have more testosterone receptor sites than other muscles proportionately.
this makes sense to me because some heavy juicers just look like their traps are too big. but then again, my friend has done an m1t cycle and he doesn’t have disproportionate traps. so i figure that if this is true it’s because of “too much” steroids.
Usually a “steroid look” includes an abnormally large face, pimples on the back, maybe a little gyno, and abnormal vascularity/muscle density (aka crazy looking veigns everywhere).

The funny thing about the steroid look is that very few people ever reach the development of freaky attributes. Whether this is due to poor genetics or a lack of knowledge I can’t say for sure, but I’d be willing to bet that it’s due to lack of knowledge.
It’s unfortunate, but quite common to see people in the gym that don’t resemble anything close to what I’d consider an enhanced physique…and these are people that you later find out are juicing!
These people have no business juicing and are partly responsible for the stigma attached to AAS.
Sounds ridiculous. I know a few guys who has enourmous traps (and rest of the body), without ever juicing. Doesn’t make any sense to me. However wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been wrong about things I at first thought ridiculous.
Gyno?? fuck off , most men have some forms og bitch tits , Studs on back? bullshit i have acne on my back , never juiced, My traps developpement is kinda big …THIS IS SHIT
Yeah, it’s hard to put into words but sometimes you just know. I think there is an excessive “fullness” to the muscles in the juicers. Especially obvious when some guy is not putting anywhere near the proper effort into his workouts but it looks like he’s ready to pop.
The one characteristic that I have observed of people that I know for a fact were using roids was an increased developement in the muscles of the temples and jaws. By increased, I mean bulging, striated, changed the shape of their face- increased. It was that or they somehow rigged the underpully to a bitepeice and were doing some very specific isolation exercises.

Good points MK!
There are quite a few guys in my gym that walk around with a moon face and are bloated to the max. It’ just sad as these sides can be controlled with some type of Anti-E.
Also, when you see somebody quite frequently and in the next couple of weeks, have gained 20lbs and look bloated! Well then there’s a good chance that they are:
A)Started Creatine
B)Have beginning Cardiovascular Problems (EDEMA)
C)Are on Prednisone
D)Are on a AAS cycle
D would be the top choice with A being a distant second.

Wow, bad day in Quebec? You’re a grumpy dude. I would say for users who are way beyond puberty, it would be the acne on the upper arms, chest, and back. Also, unusually oily skin, as AAS stimulate the sebacus gland, which produces more oil, which results in acne. There is a big difference between a few pimples (bullets, as you put it) and acne. Moonface is a giveaway, but you can’t really know, some people have fat faces. It is not normal for an adult to have acne.
is there anything to the idea that traps have higher density of T receptor sites? if so, maybe somebody who has high T may have or be able to build big traps easier (compared to other bodyparts, that is)?

He’s completely right. I was going to say most of that :(.
I reckon that most BB type juicers dont train their traps effectively in the first place (pyramid shrugs, e.g.) so when hitting the gear, they appear to get bigger.
if you DL/olift etc, then i am sure the difference would be less so.
Well I’m into week 5 of my first cycle, the cycle being 500mg test enanthate/ week, and I have noticed a few things about myself that I wonder if other people notice. My pumps are definitely more vascular and full than anytime I was natural, and along with this I feel it in my face and head. I do feel that my skin is a little more reddish in color during a hard workout, and I feel more pressure in my face. I breath harder and faster than anytime I was natural, especially after a brutal set.
Surprisingly, those are the things I notice the most. I have been keeping a log of my training, eating and general well being since about week 3, and truth be told, most of the time I feel great. There is no increased aggression, except perhaps in the weightroom, where I seem to always want one more set before I leave. It’s funny because naturally, I’m a very aggressive, insane-type guy, and my friends have commented on my relaxed state as of late. I have suffered no bacne or gyno or even excessively oil skin to this point, though I do have Nolvadex and Clomid and skin care products on hand just in case. It’s hard to tell if my sex drive is really up or not, I’ve always had a pretty high one and I keep a few girls around to take care of that anyway.
All in all, it’s been a great 5 weeks thus far, I have put on about 13 lbs so far and the only person that has asked me anything about my “supplementation” is my training partner, who is also my cousin.
