I’ll pick some up tonight.
One question: if it’s mental/anxiety, why did I stop getting night erections and morning wood?
The fact you’re not getting them shows that it’s probably not mental. That’s not to say right now, that you’re having anxiety issues about getting them as it’s on your mind. (performance anxiety).
I don’t think you’ll be able to find any good answers without full blood work, and that’s probably without being on clomid. You need a clean slate to diagnose yourself with.
This problem is horribly frustrating and down right depressing.
Okay not 10 minutes after I posted that I spontaneously got the first real hardon I’ve had in a month… it was raging and lasted like 5 min. That’s the biggest relief imaginable. So I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing and see where this goes.
Good man. You’re still thinking about it too much for my liking though, because your’e on here. try to really let go of the issue completely bud
I’ve done well keeping my mind off the issue and not engaging in anything since I first said I would (5 or 6 days ago?). Today i came home because I’m fighting a cold and just had to chill and get healthy because i’m leading a big project tomorrow. I was reviewing my last bloods and noticed my TSH is high and my t3 is low. (3.0 and 2.70 respectively). Seems like subclinical levels. My last doc mentioned it but never brought it up again and i forgot to push the issue. Doing research today it looks like mild hypothyroidism. Both my mother and sister are very hypothyroid. I started doing more research and it looks like 70-80% of men with thyroid issues experience some sort of ED. Further, all the symptoms of hypothyroidism are spot on with basically the only issues i have in life: always cold (i gave up skiing because i couldnt stand it anymore), dry skin (ive had to put lotion on my face every morning after the shower since i was 12 years old to avoid skin flaking), weak brittle nails (my nails rip easily), lethargic (very very difficult time getting out of bed my entire life), of course the ED, anxiety (i’ve dealt with mild anxiety the past 8 years), difficulty concentrating (dealt with that most of my life, i’m a very specific learner.) Hair loss (difficult time growing a thick beard.) COnstipation (my digestive system has been fucked up for better part of 10 years even though my diet is better than probably 99% of people.)
The only symptom that doesnt match is hypothyroid people gain weight. I actually have a difficult time gaining weight but if i exercise and concentrate on eating a lot i put on lean muscle very quickly. Extremely fast metabolism runs in my family.
I called my doctor tonight and I’m going to his office tomorrow morning and he’s putting me on thyroid meds.
(it was noted on my blood from the lab that my TSH and t3 levels were irregular.)
Keep us posted how you do on thyroid meds.
I may be a tad hypo as well.
Been on thyroid meds for a few days and I’m getting full blown erections again. Waking up in morning with real morning wood. Super super horny. Feeling the best I have in a couple years. I’ll make a new thread about my journey in a week or two so people can learn from what I went though. I feel like I have my life back… I’m so thankful i have the biology background to research and understand and figure out what was going on cuz 6 different fucking doctors had no clue and just gave me viagra and embarrassed me.
Glad to hear man. I hope you are posting again in 6 months telling us that you’re still having that same success!
Wow. Super damn interesting.
Please post what med you’re on and how much.
Also your thyroid blood work.
This please.
I’m on 30mcg generic Armour.
is it still helping out? Like are you still feeling good from it?
Yeah I’m feeling good and my arousal is coming back. I wake up every morning with an erection (after not having any morning erections for a year+) my hands are warming up, my energy is WAY up, workouts are much stronger, I feel really good. Only been on it since Saturday tho. My mom is on thyroid meds and between what she’s told me and my research it takes 1-2 months to really feel the effects.
Happy and jealous at the same time.
Do you have any thyroid symptoms? I had every symptom except the weight gain. Out of 4 or 5 blood tests over the years nothing has shown bad thyroid levels except the last test had slightly slightly off numbers. I only got the meds because one of my best friends is a doctor.
My numbers last looked good. I see yours posted above weren’t that great.
I am scheduling another blood test for a panel of thyroid tests this week though.
What about symptoms? I’ve had symptoms most of my life but blood looked good until last test. Even the blood a month before that one my thyroid came back good.
Really, just fatigue.
I get great erections at morning time with trt, but just not with my gf. There just isn’t a great response to sexual stimulus by my body for some reason.
