Nah he glared at the Republican side of the house, he didn’t smile at the Democrats with his smartass snicker. People openly mock this guy, both here and abroad. He is not taken seriously and that is entirely his fault not the Republicans. His extemporaneous retort to them was “even if you don’t believe in it, it’s still a good idea”. He wouldn’t have defended his statement if it wasn’t being ridiculed. Plain to see in the tape.

I watched it too. That’s not what happened.
As they should have been for that awful decision.

In all seriousness you still don’t believe in Global Warming do you? And if you do, do you think the Cap and Trade bill would actually fix it?[/quote]
You are fool if you don’t believe in global warming. The thing is how much people have to do with it.
And I don’t know if Cap and trade will fix it… I’m not certain that it’s a manmade problem,with a man-made solution.
But it is definitely happening, no doubt about it.

Maybe double our exporting of JOBS.

Why do you doubt that Obama can double exports in 5 years?
In the command economy he believes in, and in his view of things, of course he can just command it. Worked great for the Five Year Plans of his fellow travelers.

Practically speaking, what has changed? What makes this an awful decision?
This is only part that matters in the modern global warming debate. Nobody is certain, so nobody should make game-changing political decisions.

They could certainly manufacture an industry with enough tax payer or borrowed money. I just don’t see how they are going to get their hands on enough.
edit - by printing money to do it, you would also kill the exchange rate, which should provide a boost to exports by itself. This plan would not shock me in the least.

Practically speaking, not much. And I’m not convinced that any campaign finance reform would have ever worked. But still, being so blatant about it is setting back whatever good efforts were put forth on its behalf.

I don’t disagree. Cutting pollution in general and encouraging green alternatives is of paramount importance, but I’m not much for the CO2 debate.
^ I was going to post on the thread and then saw this post. Isn’t ironic how people talk about pollution. I would put thousands of dollars on the odds that those who talk about pollution, they drive a gasoline engine. Forget diesel or even human powered transportation. People don’t want to work for anything, they want to sit on their asses and get FAT!
He even tried to give Michelle praise for trying to get American kids lean. Here’s the secret, take processed foods out of their hands and kick ass until they get outside and play. Keep computer games etc., at a minimum of just a few hours a week. I can guarantee that ‘program’ will work better than anything else. OMG the guy might be eloquent, but he still spews shit.

Driving a gas/diesel engine is more or less your only option around here. It has nothing to do with “not working” for anything, and even less to do with getting “FAT”.
I absolutely hated the sotu address. mainly because I don’t have cable, so it ruined my evening of television. Freaking president on every stinking channel.

Yes. We’ll be doubling our export of tax dollars to our debt holders…
The first 15 minutes was just fucking painful to watch…It did improve around the middle before it dived at the end…Bottom line, he didn’t do himself any favors. Especially when he was bragging about how good he did wit the stimulus, yet most people think is was a waste. He made some slight concessions, but honestly I am glad he remained as polarizing as he did…It should not effect what should be a detrimental mid term election. If he loses a majority in either house, his agenda is done. He will have to negotiate and compromise on everything.
My favorite part is how he was telling the democrats not to worry about getting reelected…Have the “courage” to shove his agenda through even if it costs them their jobs…We’ll see how many jump on that bandwagon.
