Most people are ignorant of some of the root ‘causes’ of the financial crisis.

10 dollars in cuts (or more) for every 1 dollar in taxes? (That kind of thing…)

So you are saying the US cannot return to the barren wastelands of 2006?
I’m dumb.

I have NO idea about the point you’re trying to make, Orion.

Really.

He used misinformation and spin to try to sound like he was accomplishing something for the economy. The only thing propping the economy is the lies of the Fed and how much they really pumped out, and the backdoor deals with Europe we are funding through the Fed, IMF and ECB. The Central Banks, Powerful elite and political leaders are not going to let it collapse yet, they don’t want to loose that their power. Instead they are create solutions to problems they created in order to gain greater control.
Without the Fed the DJIA, S&P, and NASDAQ indexes would be significantly worse then they are now and the economy would be completely stagnant from the 2008 GFC. Some people are being ignorant to the fact the global economy experienced one of the most extensive and serious recession ever just a couple of years ago.

A lot of the problems you’re railing against have been around for multiple presidential tenures. You’re being even more ignorant if you think Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney are going to make everything much better.
I am not ignorant, I understand exactly what is causing this problem. You are obviously the ignorant one to think I would endorse Romney or Gingrich. The Fed is causing this, so of course they can prop up the economy. The fact that our politicians used us and our land as collateral in the 1933 bankruptcy and the government has been operating under a state of emergency since is a problem. But you are from newzealand wouldn’t expect you to have a grasp on the reality of our situation.

If the US federal government spend roughly as much as it did in 2006 it would have about a balanced budget?

If it went back to 2000 or so, it could abolish the income tax.

This whole “we must, must, must raise taxes” as if any sane person should acknowledge this is kind of strange if they have been spending like drunk sailors for a decade now.

Gambit:

You can tell by the comments the day before; AND by the GOP response; that the President’s speech was nowhere NEAR as partisan and “in-you-face” as was expected. The most “partisan” thing (IMO) was his insistence on following the “Buffet Rule” of fair taxation (which will NEVER see the light of day). But to me, it was a lot of “common ground” kinds of things.

In many ways, he expressed a lot of GOP “talking points” (like decreasing ridiculous rules and regulations on small business; and having government “get out of the way” of small business).

Of course there will be a lot of spin and a lot of making the speech what it wasn’t. That can be expected. And we all know politicians will SAY a lot of things and DO others. (and the President IS a politician!).

But in the end, this was a speech that was meant to lay out the President’s vision moving forward.

Mufasa
Why the GOP doesn’t tell someone like Warren Buffet to write a check to the Treasury is beyond me.

I am so sick and tired, especially here in California where the rich hippes and Hollywood fucks keep asking to pay more taxes. Well write a fucking check and leave the rest of the working people alone.
Nothing wrong with this idea at all.

In an ideal world there would also be penalties on congress for not passing a balanced budget.
Like no paychecks for congress until the balanced budget is passed?

Orly >insert owl pic here<…

But, these are like, the numbers man…

In other words, if your girlfriend has a stash of Gucci bags and Versace dresses that you bought her and she tells you that she might forego the Manolo Blanicks if you agree to give her just a little bit more money as any reasonable man would and you are actually considering this, someone needs an intervention:

In other words and I am putting this out for the people decrying the loss of the traditional fabric of society, Christian values and whatnot…

NO!

Once the American Pimphand was STRONG and bitches knew not to fuck with you.

And by bitches I mean any bastard deluded enough to think he had anything to say on the matter how a people spanning basically a continent should live their lifes.

Now, you are sending people abroad to kick the shit out of civilians and the occasional guy brave enough to take a gun and resist and you cannot even get that done right.

That is the equivalent of cubicle hamster who gets pissed on by his boss, wife and children and copes with halfheartedly kicking his dog.

So in case anybody still misses the point, this is how you treat the political class, they are morally retarded, they do not understand anything else:

In an ideal world government would not be necessary, right?

Or is your ideal world a place were people are still lorded over by thugs?

If I am a lunatic then you’re an outright, sick in the head sociopath.

First of all why do you even say things like “in an ideal world”? That is irrelevant to the topic. If you want to sit around all day and philosophise do it somewhere that it’s appropriate.

-In an ideal world you’d have a job making 5 mil a year.

-In an ideal world your girl friend or wife would look like Angelina Jolie (if you don’t like her choose another look a like).

-In an ideal world people would actually laugh when you’re trying to be funny.

-In an ideal world you’d drive your ferrari to work every day…Wait a minute in an ideal world you wouldn’t need to work they’d pay you to just breath.

Now listen carefully numb nuts, none of that is happening!

Got it? Everything that you say which is qualified by “in an ideal world” is BULLSHIT!

So take your “ideal world” stick it in your coat pocket and keep walking.

Lunatic!

All purposeful human actions are driven toward ideals.

In other words our ideals can become reality.

Seriously?

Andrew Restuccia of The Hill is reporting that Ener1, a battery company that President Obama referenced in his State of The Union Speech on Tuesday as an example of successful energy investments, has just filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

That’s just two days after the speech.

That dumbshit Arnold Schwarzen-failure even touted green jobs, bragging about how Germany’s economy is thriving from green energy. Well Clown hair was wrong on that too. Germany’s own Solon is going belly up…

Not any of the ones you’ve mentioned. They’re no more realistic than the list I gave you.

PWND.
