I spent the first 7 years of my life in the projects, and the rest in neighborhood not much better. My (single) mother (of 4) lived literally from paycheck to paycheck from 3 jobs. There were times when we had to prioritize and go for a month without electricity. We often had less than 1,000$ in the bank.
From the time I was 15 I started working 20 hours a week during school and 60 during the summer, and gave every paycheck straight to my mother.
And I’m now attending a private university with a 31,000 dollar tuition, thanks to the good ol’ United States Army.
If you want to make something happen, you will find a way to make it happen. Most people just don’t understand that there is sacrifice involved.
