also, one kicker agains iphone, mine got washed, and i cant get the contacts off of it since iphones dont store that information on your sim card and to get it off itunes i have to restore my old phone info over my girlfriends iphone, write them down, then manually put them into my droid, was a pain and made me hate apple even more…

Windows Phone (not sure about Android) syncs all your contacts into the cloud… never lose another contact again - even if you lose the phone.

Once Apple catches up, it will be touted as a new revolutionary feature and everyone will think they invented it. Wait and see.[/quote]

You mean the I-cloud??

I don’t think it syncs contacts to the cloud.

ahh, I guess it’s only a matter of time though?

I’ve been using a htc legend for the past 18 months, pretty happy with it apart from some hardware issues. The sense overlay is great IMO.
Due for an upgrade next month and really not sure whether to go with the galaxy or sensation, or just hold out for the new Iphone which is due in September apparently…
Decisions, decisions!

Seriously, after dropping the iPhone for Android I only have this to say -

SUCK MY BAWS APPLE!

I loves my Samsung Galaxy S2!

I wonder how many people will give the WP7 a chance when the new wave of handsets, the Mango update and the new adverts start?

Honestly, if you’ve used an iPhone and are considering switching, it’s a great alternative.

Not try to sound like a fanboy, just being genuine when I say it’s a great platform.

I think a lot of people are put off by the windows tag before they even give it a chance. I had an old windows phone (samsung omnia) about 3 years ago, it was probably the worst phone I’ve had and that put me off windows phones for life.

I really like android, but I will say that the experience seems to change depending on the hardware that is running it. I also think that the lack of quality control on the apps means that you have to spend more time separating the wheat from the chaff than with an Iphone.

I think the platform you choose really depends on how you use your phone. If you are not too worried about personalising and fine tuning, than the iphone probably is best. But if you want more control over how you use your phone than android is probably better.

You’re right about Android giving you lots of control.

MS should’ve called the phone something else TBH, but it is part of what is coming next year. Windows 8, the Xbox update due this year and WinPhone will all tie together. There’s even rumours of Xbox games coming to the PC - or at least a lot more integration with it.

Just keep your eye on Nokia in the coming months, they’ll be launching a £80 million ad campaign soon.

This is why i will not even consider a windows phone till they are 2-3 generations in… windows has proven in the past they never do anything right the first time…

My sister had an old windows phone and was glad someone stole it…

My vote is for any Android by HTC as well. Iphones are for simpletons really. They are basic and the same thats why they are poplular. But if you want customization, multiple home screens, 4G ( if your network has enough speed) variety and WIDGETS, buy an android. There way more reasons why Android > Apple than Apple > Android. The iphone will be on all networks by the end of the year (ATT, VZW, TMO and Sprint). There will be a slew of dual core high speed HD android phones coming this holiday season across all carriers. There is so much they can do. Yes apple will update the iphone this sept and with notifications and such but will copy android and claim they invented it.
