Simo - The Red Shoe Diaries (Part 2)

Yes it was about 2 meters. We just call a snake catcher guy and he comes and re homes it.

Moved the sand from my green barrel into my new keg today. Weighed it after and it is 55KG. Well under comp weight but will be good for me to practice with and learn how to clean and press it and then I will just add some more sand later.

That’s wild man. Talk about a job hazard. Not sure they have any office PPE that is venomous snake proof.

140 x 6 x 5 sets (308 lbs) - RPE 7, 7, 7, 8, 9 (did 7 reps on the last set lastly rep I lost the weight forward a little and it was a fight to get back)
Not sure I have ever done this weight for sets of 6, pretty sure this is a big volume PR.

Hip and leg still dodgy but shut up and did my job. Good good work.

Bulgarians
30 x 8 x 3 sets -
Quad pump city.

Dumbell bench
40 x 8 x 4 sets -
Great big chesticles after these.

Thanks Shane, it was a really good session, squats were solid and the rest was just good old hard heavy pump work.

We’ve got 4 snakes here that potentially kill you. Don’t know if you were on here when the Cottonmouth got me. Must of been 12 years ago now. Re homing Alabama style - 9mm with rat shot.

Deadlift
Bar x 10
60 x 5
100 x 3
140 x 3 - doh
160 x 2
170 x 6 x 5 sets (374 lbs) - RPR 7 7 7 8 8
All belt-less. That was some mighty fine pulling. Matches a volume PR at this weight but first time without a belt for this many.

Hammer row
40 x 5 warm up
60 x 10 x 3 sets -
Big pulls, loving my own work here.

Pull ups . Wide grip on the thic bar
4 sets - 8, 8, 8, 8
Solid effort on these. These feel like they have to be anabolic.

Dumbell curls
1st set - 20KG x 5 reps drop to 15KG for 7 more. Arms had nothing left agree all the pulling
Set 2 and 3 - 15KG x 12
Very solid arm pump.

Rotator cuff work - 5 mins

Another great session. Feel like I n ed to eat a bit more. Time to get greedy.

@wiseman83 @shaneinga thanks boys. I don’t mind the high volume stiff but I can only do it for so long before things start to complain. Feeling good right now so just going to ride the wave.

Its proven that pullups have an anabolic ratio of 5000:1 (broscience)

Friday 30 May - week 3 volume block

Squat
Bar x 10
60 x 5
80 x 3
100 x 2
120 x 8 x 3 sets - (264 lbs) - RPE 5, 6, 8 (got a bit dizzy on the last set)
All squats were done without a belt. These deff get like proper work. Happy with these tonight though.

Bench press
Bar x 10
60 x 5
80 x 3
90 x 1
100 x 6 x 5 sets - (220 lbs) - RPE 7, 8, 9 (hamstring cramp ouch), 9 (ok this time), 10
Very happy with that sort of volume at 100KG, chest deff felt like it had worked hard after these.

Bent over row
95 x 10 x 3 sets - (209 lbs)
Getting calf cramp on these, double ouch!!) Massive back and tricep pump now.

Lat pull downs
86 x 12 x 3 sets -
Fk me, fair bit of body movement to get these reps but the training effect was real.

Rolling tricep ext
15 x 3 sets - 15, 12, 8
Short rests here: Huge arm swell. Quality

Rotator cuff- 5 mins

Very good session. This volume stuff feels a lot like bodybuilding.

Nothing but meat and potatoes on that workout Simo. Nice work man!

I like the idea that there are meat and potatoes workouts, just good old honest simple hard work. Thanks

That’s where you make most of your gains throughout your entire lifting life, doing the meat and potatoes.
