Hey, as my wife would say, Mexicans are taking the states back one way or another…just look at the data from your Census next year and you will see she has a point.

Oh, no doubt. No doubt at all. I have another thread about the fate of the GoP. Sort of related…
By the way, what nationality are you? Not a loaded question, just curious.

He’s British.
Perhaps he figures that once the Mexican reconquista takes back the Southwest, he and his mates will be in the perfect position to recapture the Northeast for the Crown.
Queen and Country, Queen and Country!
Actually no, our government has a hard enough time managing it’s own tiny little island, the thought of them trying to cope with something the size of the US is terrifying.
So how is taking it over going to help the collapsing situation?
If a Spanish descended Oligarch can’t hold reins on the wild meztizo desert, how the hell could an English/Jewish Aristocracy do any better? Do you hate the proletariat that much that you’d like to shed the blood of th poor in the millions to inflate your hubris?
Hubris is, by definition, self-inflatory.
Man…
When the 70 year old PRI regime is finally toppled in the country’s first true democratic elections in 150 years (not counting Madero’s failed attempt) by THIS GUY http://antidepresivo.net/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/fox.jpg you know we’re in trouble. When said pendejo cedes the country to a power-hungry nepotistic paranoid midget in a blatantly rigged election you know we’re fucked.
When the leader of the opposition in said election is the closest thing to a people’s champion and he happens to be this guy: http://www.ciudadenlinea.com/images/oaxaca/peje.jpg … then we’re in a world of hurt.
When the traditional drug cartels are being toppled (thanks to the War on Drugs declared by Uncle Sam), which, along with the power void left by the PRIs exit in the North, allowing the balance of power to shift in favor of the new-millenia cartels that cannot be controlled by the army or the DEA and won’t cut a deal with either… then you get 30 executions a week in major cities near the border.
Tijuana used to be bad in the way that LA is bad: if you don’t act like a tourist and avoid the bad parts you’ll be fine. Now you might get drugged at Zocalo, have your belly cut open, your insides cleaned out, filled up with cocaine, sown up and driven across the border control without a hitch after the smugglers show your U.S. passport and explain that you’re sleeping off the tequila.
None of this would be solved by another gung-ho U.S. invasion; I doubt you’d want the rest of the country with the state that it’s in anyways. Be happu guys got away with stealing California-through-Texas.
Mexico has been in a state of chaos for many years. Taking over won’t do squat. We gotta hit the drug influx from the source, not just take over expecting everything to be fine.
For a country that is in so much chaos it sure is a nice place to live.

Most countries in states of chaos are. Indonesia was lovely.
One simply learns to avoid the riots.
Slight diversion: I am going out on a limb here, Cockney, but I’m wagering that you are a white man?
Do you think you would be treated any differently in your chosen country if you were a British subject of, say, West Indian or Pakistani ancestry? That is to say, darker-skinned?
