John, if a person is a patriot, will non-severe asthma hold him back?
I’m not really one, and I made everything to have a chance to jump out of a c-160 plane when it was my time to serve.
I knew my allergy would give me trouble, I usually try to avoid the countryside during the season and stick to cities.
We were instructed in the open while everything was blooming (Ah beautiful Bavaria!). So my face was burning and swollen the whole time, my eyes were watery and I had trouble breathing.
And the actual instruction wasn’t for sissies. I even didn’t skip my cardio.
It’d do it again in a heartbeat.
HH does martial arts and works out; he avoided service. All he had to do was lie about his asthma.

I grew up in inner-city Detroit. The incidence of asthma is much higher in inner cities here. I have known 2 people who died of this disease. It is not just an inconvenience. It does keep many people out.
You have allergies. That is different, though symptoms are similar.
Why does Germany even have a military btw? The Americans will protect you. Seriously, who’s going to attack you? Poland? Belgium? I’m surprised you guys have an army at all.

Yeah, it probably will, but you should realize that the last such crisis, caused by Britain losing hegemony to the USA, went quite smoothly because of shared cultural traditions, such as respect for property rights.
