Shoes Thrown at Bush in Iraq.

Yes. Obviously, The Sun and its sister publication, the Daily Maily will change their respective editorial lines overnight.

In case you didn’t know, those are Britain’s largest dailies in terms of circulation. And when it comes to hate-mongering and other covert racism, they make Fox (Murdoch again) look a harmless puppy.

What is it that you have in mind? Iranian-style sharia, Saudi Wahabism or more like Algerian “sharia”?

And by what process? A democratic one? Is so, you need to explain to us how is it that you see it happening. If not, then why the hell are British soldiers and tax-Quids doing spreading “freedom and democracy” on the other side of the globe

If anything, the consequences of imperialistic (mis)adventures. Go read some history and census figures.

There is nothing “unrestricted” about immigration to Britain. Citizenship applications are dropping every year and approved one follow a similar trend. The influx of foreign born people to the isle has been driven mainly by the country’s lengthy and far-reaching imperialistic history. The biggest chunk is from Ireland, India (including Pakistan and Bangladesh) and South Africa. Then there’s asylum seekers, which it had the obligation to take as per UN treaties. You see, it’s kind of hard to try and legitimize a global institution (where you scored special status) and push it onto others, while breaking the rules.

Other than that, blame the natives who wouldn’t be caught dead cleaning toilets for miserable pay, corporations always trying to cut corners and The Pill. Of course, between a regulated, sane and consistent immigration policy and one where borders are Swiss cheese (with a massive flood of illegal immigrants), it’s evident that the former is more beneficial to the country.

Do tighten up security around your own country before trying to lecture others.

With in 10 years Sharia law will be fully integrated into your system…

The penalties of unrestricted immigration.

Thought you were not going to post until Oct of 2009?

Lying sack of shit. Not a suprise.

So do you think cyclops would have destroyed the shoe with his eye-beams before it would have hit him? And what does this super power tell us about his (secret) religious beliefs?
Depends on if the beams come from his regular eyes, or a third eye on his forehead.

Yes, Bush did not flinch at all. He was like, ‘go ahead punk, throw something else’

Considering all that has gone on with the Muslims. Then to be surrounded by Muslim journalists and have something throw something at you, and to not flinch or hide, that is pretty bad-ass in my book. For all he knew it could have been a bomb. Yet he just stood there smiling at the guy not intimidated at all.

Not to belittle Bush’s excellent handling of the situation, but the conference was within the perimeter of the Green Zone and every single one of those present have been thoroughly inspected multiple times.

Back to the topic at hand; who thinks Bush could have caught the shoe and thrown it back?!?!

LR

Yeah, throwing it back would have probably been the coolest think he could have done. Especially if the other guy couldn’t duck quick enough. It kinda pisses me off that his shoe his the flag behind bush though.

naw… the shoe hitting Bush now that would have been something… something big.

I don’t know if fellas realize that gettin hit with the sole of a shoe is like the worst insults in Arab culture. Remember when the statue of Saddam was toppled?? And how Iraqis ran by hitting the head of the statue with their shoes as it was dragged along the street??

Yah… kinda funny how that came back around.
I guess Bush ought to consider the source of the insult. He’s gotta be doing (at least) something right if he’s got Arabs pissed off at him. Hell, he got them to take time from their martyrdom operations to come down to the press conference to personally insult him.

Good question.

Well, evidentially the asshole detector didn’t screen out the retard throwing his smelly shoes.

It is just proof that they deserved Saddam Hussain. To bad we cannot resurrect his ass and restore him to power with our apologies. “Sorry Saddam, apparently you were more popular than we originally thought. Hey, gas a Kurd for us, would ya?”

The Iraqi Arabs had the level of government they deserved. When we leave, some new strong man will rise to power and restore the status quo. Or, they’ll become a satellite of Iran, which they pretty much already are. The best thing we had going there was Sunni/Shia internecine fighting.

Id´like to you to try to program an-asshole detector to be objectively able to distinguish between an Iraqi shoe thrower and an American bomber pilot.

The problem might be because the asshole detector had to be calibrated to let Bush in.

The Iraqis are behind on laser guided shoe technology.

well played. You sir just made my night. One of the best responses to this crap that a handful of European posters try to clog every thread up with. Hopefully I am not alone in enjoying a good laugh after reading your response.

Bullshit. That dude was able to practice democracy. If he would have done that to Saddam, he would have been hung that same hour.
