No.
(I’m surprised no one’s made a call-out thread.)

I have full faith holymac is going to get this done, but people have to realize that sometimes things that aren’t important have to get put on the backburner sometimes. Sometimes they have to get put on the backburner for a couple weeks, sometimes for a couple months. Relax, fellas.
Well…thanks for nuthin’
God…I don’t understand this concept. You’re supposed to stay quiet when you work out. Who doesn’t grunt
when they work out. And how would you get lunked for judging? I mean they would have to over hear you
saying something like “That cougar over there with the camel toe is checking you out.”

you get “lunked” for grunting or deadlifting not judging. they just like to make very illogical and irrational connections based on stereotypes (ironic) to promote an unhealthy lifestyle/ low-self esteem. because all bodybuilders and powerlifters are judgemental heathens (sarcasm).
I wish i had audio at work so i could find a clip of the radio commercials they have around here for planet fitness. it pretty much judges/stereotypes serious lifters while saying their facility doesnt judge or stereotype…crazy

LOL. I have NEVER even seen someone laugh at a fat person in a gym. You’re right, it is marketing bullshit. Every skinny teenager was a little intimidated when they first walked in a gym, especially if you started in the early 90’s or before then and the gym was actually filled with big fuckers who were lifting more than you weigh.
No one today even has an excuse because 80% of the people in most gyms all day long are out of shape and UNmuscular.
I get judged more by little skinny/fat people than I have ever seen happen in reverse. Most bigger guys are the first to help you out IF YOU ARE SERIOUS yourself and not just fucking around.
Couldn’t have said it better. I think they are tapping into a pretty common tactic: claim there is some plot and present yourself as the reasonable alternative. There is an automatic bonding effect in this sort of mindset, because since it is a straw man, pretty much everyone can feel like they have been wronged. Their image of a weightlifter is some hulked up high school bully, not a real person. I do rank this as a type of con though… You see a variation of it in politics all the time, where some group that nobody belongs to is loudly denounced. For another example, take this place:
interspersed with some pretty solid training advice are rants about how men don’t want women in the gym. Seriously. We are all out to prevent women from getting in shape and one is left with the unmistakable idea that female obesity is just yet another patriarchal plot to control women. Riiiiight we all want to be sure our SO’s don’t end up looking like Jamie Eason, isn’t that so fellas?
I think the most galling part of the PF approach is that it denies us* our basic humanity: We are either evil or stupid and there is no attempt made to understand that we just do this as our hobby. People who are good at it remember all too well starting as the skinny kid and, again I agree with the Professor, are often the most helpful people in the gym.
And as always, I might just be full of shit…

It seems like a women’s gym where the gals can be comfortable and chat, and take it easy doing cardio, or not feel self conscious etc. But if your a girly wuss you’re welcome as well.

Thank you for saving me from the “Hoffer”. I thought i caught the ghey for a second.
So, could they kick you out if you set up a barbell, and very quickly chalked up/huffed some ammonia/got slapped in the face and pull a pr, drop it from standing and yell “I LIKE TITTIES!”? I’d like to see Mac do that.
