Arnold is in such deep shit, he is resorting to pathetic measures to balance the budget. He has a huge deficit to deal with, and his popularity is ridiculously low. He should be recalled.

Let’s not forget that he inherited a shit hole in its death throes though. You can’t possibly lay all this at his feet.

I can put alot of shit on him, he has increased government in California by 40%, and the state is not 40% better. California has the highest paid teachers and are among the worst in student performance. He is trying to push Prop 1a which extends taxes by 2 years, doubles the car tax, increases sales tax to make California the highest taxed state in the union, and decreases child tax credits. You can trust and believe he is a piece of shit governor and should have never gotten into politics. During his campaign, he promised not to take money from education, and not long after his election took 20 million dollars from educational programs. He is proposing programs to borrow from future potential earnings because he is such a pussy and can’t stand up to the unions which are the worst here in California. They are like the mafia with their scare tactics. Fuck Arnold.
I’m not saying he’s a good gov by any means. Not only do I lack the desire to read up on Cali politics (I don’t care), but I’m inclined to agree with you on many of those things. But I am saying that Cali was in a fucked position before he ever took office.

LMAO - leave it to Californians to try to legalize weed instead of just adding new oil wells and tapping into the BILLIONS of dollars in revenue sitting wasted offshore - with new drilling technology, they would not even have to add any new platforms! conservative estimates put the IMMEDIATE annual revenue at $40 billion! and this would drive down gas prices and reduce our dependency on foreign oil sources . . . .

nnnaaahhh, what I am thinking- let’s just let our economy go to hell (or the Chinese - probably the same thing) and just sit around smoking weed as we collect our government welfare checks while we wait to hopefully see the doctor some time this decade for that nasty case of swine flu we caught . . . .
wow headhunter you got a new avatar

Sounds a lot like New Jersey. But this the game and it’s played everywhere. Something to be said for actors staying in movies. Predator was awesome.

Yah, it bothers me when people say “fuck Arnold”.

The Arnold in your avatar is not the same piece of shit Taxinator we have in office right now. Dude I live here in California, and just came from a tea party in Corona. Arnold is in such bad political shape, he threatened to remove cops and firemen with layoffs before teachers or other state workers.

Imagine that, the first people he would want to remove is cops and firemen? In a state that burns like hell in the summer with all it’s wildfires, and crime rate that prevents me from going to certain areas.

He is a lukewarm Republican, and he has no balls at all. A recall petition has been started to remove his dumb ass from office.

As for offshore drilling, I’m not familiar enough to speak with any certainty on the subject, but I think it’s a safe bet to say with all the wackos in Cali, you’d be hard pressed to get offshore drilling passed whereas weed is pretty popular with the wacko crowd.
I’d sign it if I lived there.

That’s the truth, I just got done watching a program on NOVA about the financial crisis in CA, and what Arnie plans on doing about it. Plus, there was a focus on hsi plan to “green up” the state.

Some of the measures he is proposing to balance the state budget seem VERY extreme. Ironically, his 40 year plan to “green up” California is going to cost a shit ton of money, money that could instead be spent on balancing the budget.

I used to live in CA, I moved to MI in 2005 after he was elected. I actually voted in that election - it was my first time voting in any election I might add. I remember my Grandpa urging me to vote to keep Davis, so that’s what I did. I admit it wasn’t the best reason to vote, but at the time I really didn’t care.

Maximus is right though, he seems to have trouble in standing up to the unions, and the democrat power there.

I signed it the moment I heard about it. I think people are so pissed about the shit going on here, he might actually be recalled.

Its almost official, all of the props have failed with the exception of 1F, which prevents government officials to get raises and bonuses in the time of a deficit. Arnold is cowering in Washington DC right now, and wont come home til tomorrow since he is so scared. The chances of him actually declaring bankruptcy are pretty good now.

I am not happy about this situation but there is no choice. Government officials should have to take the pinch the same way we all are in this tough time. They want raises, bonuses, and ridiculous pensions at the expense of the tax payer. The LA Times put a school teacher out on blast for making $73k a year while he is under investigation for sex abuse of a student. So this fucker stays home and banks his $6k/month and does nothing since his union protects him. He has been accused of abuse in the past already, but they keep him anyway. I swear I hope ThunderDome comes here with all the bullshit going on.

He threatens to lay off cops and fireman, and let out criminals in an effort to save money. But for fuck’s sake, he won’t cut down on government, which he increased by 40% since he got into office. I love Arnold the bodybuilder from the Golden Era. I think he was very good at that, but his politics are killing this state.

One thing I have to admit, the people here aren’t taking this shit lightly. I went to a tea party this past weekend and people were foaming at the mouth.

Pot should be legal. Prostitution should be legal. Tax 'em both but they should be legal under any circumstances. Steroids as well should be OTC too.

Hear hear. Idiots want to give themselves raises for fucking up big time. But saddle everyone else with their tab and their fuck up.

San Diego has some problems of absurd proportions too. career politicians on city “water boards” making 100k+ and only meet once a month. cops still beating the fuck outta people, taking my skateboard away while serious crime is on the rise.

At least we have Mr Xtreme to protect us.

Gotta love politics. Cut only essential services and more people will cave in to additional taxes in order to keep those services from being cut. Cut non-essential services and people will start figuring out that maybe less government is a good thing, which isn’t a good thing for politicians.

Hadn’t wandered through PWI before. There are some interesting threads in here.

I think that’s the main gripe with people here, is that they are tired of having to pay for everything. Teachers and other state workers have the most insane benefits here, and their unions are mafia-like. It’s about time that they tighten the belt just like the rest of us have to. If cuts need to be made, then get rid of the pricks in the cubicles who make serious money for not doing much of anything. Let them choke.
