Scared Out My Wits By Weird Dream

just jerk off. You’ll be fine after
x2. This is Sage advice. Jerk it and sleep like a baby.

A few times I feel “trapped” inside my body, or my body is trapped in a dream. I’m not really dreaming though, when I wake up I don’t recall seeing any images or anything. It’s like, I’m laying down asleep, and all of a sudden I realize I am subconscious and everything is sort of black, and I just start shaking my body rigorously until I wake up, sometimes it takes a few seconds which is frightening. I’m shaking really hard mentally, but I’m not moving at all physically.

I die all the time in my ZMA dreams and I think it’s hilarious. Sleep can be boring sometimes.

Same shit used to happen to me all the time, it’s always scary as fuck. I tried shaking my limbs but of course I was completely incapable so I tried breathing rapidly and trying to force my eyes open at the same time, it seemed to help me wake up. It felt like I was able to make myself breath faster but then again I can’t be sure. Also tried screaming a couple times but I dont think the screams were real, probably hallucinations/dreams.

Jerking it before bed doesn’t really solve the problem. Foam rolling on the other hand…

I dream some strange shit. But this one night when i was 15 or so and still living with my parents,i remembered i got up and turned on the living room light for some reason then turned it off and went back to bed.

The next day my mother tell’s me she heard some noise while lying in bed and noticed the living room light was on,this was at 1am. She woke up 3 hours later and the light was still on. So i must have been standing in the living room doing who knows what for 3 hours.

Freaked me out when she told me.

ZMA’s def make a difference, I actually love takeing ZMA because of how well and deep you sleep. Before you go to bed just think of your wife or GF and i can promise you will have magnificent dreams, but wet sheets

I just had a really weird one.

I was in a creepy little town and ended up w/ a little magic bottle of liquor and some type of Halloween mask. I remember drinking the liquor, and it had the words “internal naivete” along w/ a whole bunch of other ones on the bottle. I drank some of it, put on the Halloween mask, and had like a crypt keeper guy growing out of my shoulder. I had this whole dialogue w/ it, in some type of dream state severe drunken/tripping my balls of state, followed by the realization that I am somehow this crypt keeper guy who lives a nightmare life and goes and narrates/relives horror stories.

The dream booze wore off, I took the mask off, and saved it along w/ the bottle and it was dream morning. I was on a business trip type deal and ended up in this bar w/ my dad and some other people who I remember the most clearly. Some dude is chopping up a bunch of fruit and nuts for breakfast and I’m trying to get him to make me a bloody mary w/ this franken-booze I got.

Then I woke up w/ my eyes bulging out of my head. It was one of those, feel like you’ve been asleep 2 days, but it was only 2 hours. There was some weird sex stuff in their too that I don’t remember clearly and I’m pretty sure I ended up w/ a gun at some point too, but, the apogee was the realization that I am indeed the crypt keeper.

That was completely fucked up, but I do feel better after typing it out.

Last night or early today I woke up at like 7AM after my dream abruptly changing… It went from me seeing some weird woman with a sinister smile who had been walking backwards to losing all sense of reality dream and otherwise… I had no idea if I was about to die.

I was aware of myself and I felt trapped… All I could hear was a low pitch buzzing noise and it felt like I was falling through darkness. All this time I couldn’t wake up but I could feel my eyes moving and I even remember trying to open them.

It’s different from my usual nightmares and I used to get these as a child but not for a long long time since.

Has anyone got any experience with these type of dreams. I was worried I might of had a fit or a seizure or something. Or maybe it is night terror I wouldn’t know if I was screaming because no one else was in the house.

I doubt it was a night terror, as it’s rare for adults to have them… Exceptionally rare actually… My daughter (6) gets them from time to time when she’s stressed out over stuff… She has no memory of the event whatsoever, nor does she have any memory of us coming into her room, helping to calm her down, etc.

Night terrors usually occur in the sleep stage when you’re just drifting into REM sleep (I think that’s the stage) and you’re just not getting into that level of sleep…

Quite scary actually, as she’s completely terrified, eyes open, screaming, etc…

We were able to determine it was a night terror after it kept occurring and she had no memory of it happening, no memory of coming into bed with us, etc…

You recall your dream and how you felt, etc. so definately not a night terror (IMHO), but I’m not expert, just based on what I’ve dealt with, with our daughter…

I know when I was in my late teens/early 20’s, during a VERY stressful time at work, I woke up and found myself standing in my room, talking about placing orders and stuff… Had to give my head a shake after that, but that type of dream/state only occurred a couple times and always under severe stress levels…
That’s a pretty close explanation. The sleep paralysis that people are talking about can also be associated with hallucinations (hypnogogic going into sleep or hypnopompic coming out of sleep). This usually can occur in a person who is sleep deprived or under a lot of stress. What is happening is REM sleep is going on while you are partially awake. 1 during REM we have muscle paralysis so as to not act out our dreams. 2 It seems like the person is having hallucinations when actually they are dreaming. Typically this is supposed to take place whem a person if fully asleep and in REM. But in a sleep dreprived or stressed person, a disconnect can take place. This can last up to 45 minutes (Yikes).

As far as night terrors are concerned. These always take place outside of REM sleep. That's why a person can't remember them and it's also the major difference between that and a nightmare. And yes, typically night terrors are exclusive to young children as they will grow out of them with time.

I’ve had the sleep paralysis several times when I was in my 20’s. I haven’t had it in years. It really is frightening. I remember the feeling of trying to open my eyes like they are glued shut and not being able to move any part of my body.

Like Deborah I also have lucid dreams when I’m under stress. I see things that aren’t there and have to turn on a light to orient myself.

The most fun though, is sleep walking. I did it recently. I was waking up and couldn’t figure out where I was. The walls were in the wrong place. I woke up in my youngest daughters bed (she was at her dads). I don’t remember getting there. However, by far the most fucked up was in basic training years ago. When we were in the field we always had to have our rifles on our person so we slept with them in our sleeping bags. One morning, in barracks, I woke up with my rifle in my bed which means I opened a combination lock in my sleep. I have sleep issues

Dreams are so interesting… Not to change what I intended this thread for too much but maybe we could have a few people posting their most memorable, funny, scary dreams here. I think going in to great detail is also very important.

For instance. I have a recurring dream in the sense that it’s the same place but what usually happens is different but usually in the same situation.

I am walking from my old house to a town or I’m at the old house or I’m in the town. Either way I am always scared and trying to get to where I live now and have no idea why I am where I am.

Another one I get was my first primary/elementary school and I remember the old rusty gate, which was a faded red with the paint peeling off all over. I will run up to the gate and feel sick. When I wake up I don’t always remember it but when I think about it I feel sick all over again.

@AttackOfTheChris & PB Andy: This is what my dream is like… I feel a little better that someone else gets it too, not that I would wish it on anyone.

I also think a lot of these messed up things we do as humans, that we have no way of explaining no recollection of has to have a cause. As such I think this makes it even more important we strive for fitness which makes what we do in the gym, kitchen… All of our habits so important. I have seen peoples minds wasted into complete idiotic garbage just because they don’t look after themselves. Some of the things they say and do truly scare me. They don’t seem to even be as sentient or conscious as I am. They don’t realize they do half of the things they do.

Another interesting point. There is sleep walking, usually (but not as exclusively) occurring in younger children. Again, it’s typical to grow out of this. Then there is REM sleep disorder. This can occur at any age and is considered a parasomnia. Basically you act out your dreams when you should have muscle paralysis. Sleep walking on the other hand is considered a dissomnia and occurs out of REM sleep. That’s why a person does not have any idea how they (did) or got to where they are. So if someone is nice enough to steer you back to bed you’ll none the wiser the next morning.

Yeah, it was scary as shit before I knew what it was, I used to worry that there was something seriously wrong with me, like I was gonna slip into a coma or actually be paralyzed or die one of these days. Doesn’t happen anymore. Only very very rarely, probably only had one incident this year. A big improvement from every frickin day. Back then I had a ton of anxiety and depression, so my recommendation is to keep working out like an animal, eat right, figure out things that make you happy, make you laugh alot, and work on reducing stress. Don’t know if it fits in with your program or not but cardio always seems to work wonders on my mood, specifically running in a nice area. Everyone’s different though. The amount of nightmares I have has reduced significantly also, they used to be almost every night, now just rare random occurences.

I almost forgot: stick it in her pooper, squats and milk, try hitting her, jerk it, foam roll, ect.

I don’t remember what I was dreaming, but one time when I was about 20 I jumped out of bed, ran through the living room past my mom who was sitting on the couch, out the front door, and up a hill toward a highway before waking up.

Freaked us both out quite a bit.

Sounds like a weak squat. I would recommend 5x5.
