Ruth Bader Ginsburg Has Died

Did she even argue or hear appeals cases? I count six.

Why would Bloomberg want the position of power that is POTUS with a salary of a couple hundred thousand as a billionaire?

Maybe some people value more than compensation in a job. Why do some people work for charities and such, when they could make more money? Are they all just incompetent?

No doubt there are plenty of disturbed folks attracted to being a judge, but I think it’s still fair to call them “failed lawyers.”

It is for things we have commodotized, and it generally does great with such things (though not perfectly). Some things we haven’t. Public service is one. If you don’t believe me, ask yourself which is more important - the CEO of Amazon or the office of the POTUS?

She was a judge on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals before her appointment to SCOTUS. So, yes, she heard a few appeals.

Sure they could, and some do (leave the federal judiciary for the private sector). You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Actually it was @Legalsteel getting married.

@thunderbolt23 's wife doesn’t let him talk to her like he talks here…lol

Don’t let ole Pat discourage you - my wife is my favorite person in the world still after 26 years.
Get the right one though, the right one.

To a Canadian of all things. More fool I for marrying a Canuck redhead.

That’s awesome, man. Mine is my best friend and I aim to keep it that way.

Pat’s heart is in the right place, what he doesn’t know is that the future Mrs Steel is a bigger nerd than I am :joy:

Edit: She keeps trying to get me into magic the gathering, for heaven’s sake. To quote Meatloaf, ‘I’d do anything for love, but I won’t do that.’

Because A) he’s already a self made billionaire and B) he’s a sociopath who wants to tell people what to do by force.

Yes, they go to the private sector the same reason a hedge fund like ours hires former SEC people; connections and favors, not brains. Apparently you have no idea how the world works.

The CEO of AMZN considering it provides a service people voluntarily pay for as opposed to having to steal the money like government.

I saw Bezos on a Yacht somewhere…and all I could think of was how much of that I had paid for!

(My guess is AT LEAST the furnishings in one of the State Rooms! LOL!)

Bloomberg’s problem was that he was not a very good public speaker and was a lousy, LOUSY debater.

Trump is lousy at it too; but he knows how to attack, deflect and bullshit his way through just about any issue. In many ways, that could be considered a valuable skill set to have.

Ah yes, I think I remember you - the low level Wall Street rookie trying pretend you’re the big timer?

That’s not why they go to the private sector - most judges don’t have great connections because as a judge you don’t network as much for fear that people will lose faith in your neutrality and objectivity.

That said, even people who are hired for their connections (rather) than brains can add value - business development. Ask your friends at the hedge fund.

My bad, I will edit my post… Still best wishes!

Get the Charger Hellcat Redeye Wide body NOW, before you get married. The good news is the Charger has 4 doors, so it’s a “family” car, too. It also looks even better than the Challenger IMO. So even when you have a bad day, you have 797 HP to sooth your soul!

797 HP, from the factory with a warranty! That’s absurd. Beautifully, ridiculously absurd. AND, people still try to modify them to get more power.
With that car and an empty road, you can get the little lady to the hospital in no time, where ever the hospital may be…
