Firefly I served most of my time overseas and I did serve in a combat zone. Your right not that many know how good we have it. Your right most people do not respect the serviceman nor LE, until they need them.
Yeah your right the hell with PC but damn we still have the damn best country in the world. You may be partially right and say that Military and LE should have benefits after a career, but you know what if they choose not give it to me. Ill find a way.

Whats funny I used be a halfway-left wing nut, and frankly I used to think almost like you. Also I feel you on the VA, when I went to a health exam I was completely depressed after my visit there. I mean I walk in there and the old folk who served our country are all in wheelchairs, or canes, patches over there eyes. I mean I felt so damn lucky nothing happened to me. I was kind of embarrassed to be walking in without a injury, it literally almost made me well up some red eyes.
Like Mr. Orwell said, People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

I think that if we don’t agree, we can at least see where the other is coming from, which is a good thing and rare in political forums. Indeed, one of the guys in my unit was actually a Vietnam Vet. A really old E6 that had resigned his commission to come with us and he got hit in the hand. Nothing serious, just needed some pins put in, but he sat at Walter Reed for 3 months before they operated on him and he was there another 3 months before they discharged him. Good quotation, one of my favorites :slight_smile:
