Pretty much. It looks like Assange/WL had reached out to Jr repeatedly. Jr replied a few times, but he also notified the other top officials in the Trump campaign via email. At the very least (since not all correspondence was released), it pretty much proves that WL was purposely trying to help Trump. And it sure makes Pence look like a liar.

Meanwhile, Russian State TV is peddling almost verbatim that pseudoscience so much beloved by the alt-righters - you know, all that psycho babble about alpha and beta males, PUA techniques etc.
Their conclusion is (word for word) that Trump is their bitch, but the Deep State and Mad Dog Mattis are thwarting their plans for the time being.
This is not some Russian equivalent of Infowars, on this show high ranking members of the Russian government are a regular feature.

Wasn’t it common knowledge Assange had a hardon for Hillary? Internet dorks think he is some sort of unbiased truth warrior but he has his own ideological agenda.
I know he did later in the election (I think she made reference to drone bombing him at one point lol), but I am not aware of any historical vendetta he had against her (other than just against her ideology). Putin’s hated her for a long time though.

Good money still says Pence just sits there and does what he’s told. Trump NEEDS a yes man at his beck and call. I doubt he even knew he was lying. Guy was just trying to save a dying political career and wanted to make history books.
IIRC a lot of it stems from her time being pretty in favor of the US continuing its very very inexpensive hobby of nation building.

Possibly, but him playing the “I know nothing” card (a la Sessions) is pretty weak. Especially considering he was heading up the transition team after the election and claimed he knew nothing about Flynn’s Turkish lobbying, despite being sent a letter from Congress about it.

I don’t think it’s quite as weak. If you’re in Pence’s shoes (or Sessions to a lesser amount) and you get even a WHIFF that something like that is actually going on, your options are to report it, get involved, or stay as far away from it as humanly possible.
With Pence he didn’t have a fall back. His career was soon to be ending, with history writing him off as another shitty governor. People underestimate the need for these big shot pols to go down in history. Shit I’m still convinced that’s half the reason HRC wanted POTUS so bad. Sans POTUS run she’s just the first lady Bill cheated on.
So you’re saying Pence can safely claim ignorance here? I know he had nothing to lose but I’d say his claim that he knew nothing stinks to high heaven.
(There’s a good article in the New Yorker this month about him. Here’s a guy who was about to get cut from the farm team who suddenly gets called up to the pros. Considering who our president is, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but still…).
I’m not saying he didn’t have an inkling of what’s going on, but if you’re Trump, why involve Pence at all? He’s just a figurehead to pull in the Jesus vote. He doesn’t actually provide useful experience on literally anything. Have him sit there and glad hand the religious folks and maybe some oldschool Repubs. Beyond that he’s not much of a value add kinda guy.
If I’m Trump, I see involving Pence in any way as a pure liability with no gain. He’d fold in an instant when Mueller (or whoever was going to inevitably investigate him) gets ahold of him. He has no experience playing with the big boys, absolutely nothing to lose, and ideologically he seems much closer to your traditional repub than someone like Trump.

Ehhh history books don’t really care about senators and SoS. When I say that I mean the literal history books. I’d put some really good odds on the average person (and vast majority for that matter) can’t name a SoS or Senator from before their lifetime unless they made some type of monumental splash.
I can name someone who was both: William Seward.
Then you have Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, J.Q. Adams. I would hope the average American knows who they are.
Except nobody cares about them for being senators/SoS. They remember them for being POTUS and FFs.
If they even remember them at all.

I have no conclusion because I can’t tell if our time will just be a “forgotten moment” in world history, a “blip” on the screen, or if we’re not living through one of those transitional phases that is a unit in 8th grade classes, where in she would certainly be a prominent figure within it. (Well, maybe in the college version, not in 8th grade version.)
I don’t know. Maybe she will just go down as Bill’s First Lady… I don’t think that’s a fair assessment, but then again, who can name more than 8 losers of POTUS races before 1980?

Whether or not that’s how history will see her is probably the basis for the entire premise. The level of uncertainty mixed with historical results of remembering people. She’ll be lost to history. Completely and utterly lost to history. And I’d bet good money that eats her up in side. Pols place a ton of self worth in how they’ll be remembered.
Not to whataboutism, but lets look at Trump. Guy probably realized after he dies virtually nobody would care and his effect on this planet doesn’t even scratch the surface of having a lasting effect and/or being remembered. Now enter Trump the POTUS. The level to which he’ll be remembered just amplified 10000fold.
