Russia Threatens Poland

There is not a single one of our military bases in any country who has not asked us to be there. Not a single one.

We have bases in Europe because the Europeans can’t defend themselves (think NATO, dimwit).

I would like to know this supposed repeated bombing of all 4 continents. Please provide a list from a reputable source, or shut the fuck up.

I love the way you are defending Russia’s right to threaten a sovereign nation, but hold us in contempt for deciding to enforce multiple UN resolutions with multi-national support.

I knew you were a piece of shit, but your hypocrisy is just icing on the cake.

Zep, the king of the ABBers shows up to hate on the US some more.

I said it a couple of weeks ago, but Russia is trying to rebuild its Iron Curtain. Ans thankfully, they have idiots like you and lixy to help them.

Did you guys ever figure out a way to blame Bush for the Cali earthquake the other day?

hey, I’m zep too.

Russia is in asia, asia has this part of it where there is a concentrated amount of islamist nutjobs, who would like nothing more then to see the US, and her allies blown to pieces.

I would want to have a missile defence system in place right away. Irregaurdless of if our enemies had the weapons they seek at the moment.

are canada, mexico, or hell even any of south america any problem to Russia, have they attacked russia’s allies? Or actively trying to find the means to do serious damage, funding terrorists, etc?

Those two situations aren’t comparable.

Some Americans sing praises of their country.

Russia invaded a country on its immediate border, and is making geopolitical posturing noise about the US’ unilateral withdrawal from the ICBM and plans to place missiles in Moscow’s backyard.

The same Americans throw their hands in the air, talk about Hitler and refer to Russia as evil incarnated.

The double standards are obvious here.
Ok … one at a time …

“The US has more military bases overseas than all other countries combined.”

Are you trying to make a salient point with this statement? The South Koreans would shit in their pants if we left our bases there. We’re the only thing keeping the North Koreans from killing them all. The Germans begged us to stay when we threatened to leave a few years ago. Taiwan is mighty glad for the seventh fleet every time China has wargames in the straits and lobs a few missiles over their heads. More bases … yes and … point please? The fact that our bases are in countries that ask us to stay seems to bounce off your forehead …

“It has repeatedly bombed the four continents.”

The four continents? There are seven. Which would the offending four be? North America? South America? Australia? Antarctica? Lots of repeated American bombings of Africa??? I must have missed those news reports. I know we just gave billions to fight aids over there. How much did sweden provide? Some cool wood furniture perhaps.

“It is threatening military action on a country (on the other side of the planet!) in a most hypocritical manner.”

What military action is that? And how is threatening military action (if we did?) analogous and therefore hypocritical compared to Russia actually invading a country? Do you know the proper use of the term hypocritical? And I must have missed this threat to a country you’re talking about. Name of country please?

The American intelligence services and/or military have been involved a number of coups all over the globe."

Supposedly … but not half of what the Russians have been involved with. In fact, they just poisoned the President of Ukraine last year! I doubt you had much outrage over that. He probably deserved it right? Ukraine is on Russia’s immediate border so they get a free pass on poisoning neighboring heads of state too?

“Russia invaded a country on its immediate border, and is making geopolitical posturing noise about the US’ unilateral withdrawal from the ICBM and plans to place missiles in Moscow’s backyard.”

The ICBM? What ARE you talking about? An ICBM is a missile. Do you mean the ABM treaty? We formally withdrew per the treaty terms … like we were supposed to do legally. You seem strangely sympathetic to Russian aggression. Of course sweden was strangely sympathetic to Nazi aggression too as I recall. Does your comment mean Sweden gets a free Norway or Finland invasion pass because it’s so close and on your immediate border? " And you’re conveniently using the term missiles and omitting the fact that a Patriot battery is good for only one thing … shooting down other incoming missiles … probably coming from Russia. Even you have to find it comical that the Russians would find it offensive that we would dare to install missiles that can shoot down their incoming missiles. They only become threatening after Putin launches his own. Unless you think he fears the Georgians and Polls and their 25,000 man armies.

“The same Americans throw their hands in the air, talk about Hitler and refer to Russia as evil incarnated.”

They are evil incarnate and so was Hitler but Sweden collaborated with him so we obviously do have a different idea of evil. The Russians have literally been invading, occupying and subjugating their neighbors for a thousand years … and you’re all hot and bothered about our bases in Japan that the Japanese can ask us to vacate any time they want.

You make no sense … which was MY point originally …

It is constant and infuriating. It ruins the possibility of any good discussion, which is exactly what they want. Most of it does not stand up to scrutiny but if they throw it out fast enough it makes it hard debunk it all.

That’s what empires do. Set up military bases.

Russia, so far, is sticking to its borders.

This is exactly the imperialistic argument. I suggest you study some history. Ever heard of “protectorates”?
“It has repeatedly bombed the four continents.”

The four continents? There are seven.
Africa, Europe, Asia and America. The other masses are not exactly relevant.

Yes, you did.

May I inquire about your age?

I don’t know. I don’t really care much either. What I do know, is that people over there would rather burn an American flag than a Swedish or Russian one.

That should be a clue.
“It is threatening military action on a country (on the other side of the planet!) in a most hypocritical manner.”

What military action is that? And how is threatening military action (if we did?) analogous and therefore hypocritical compared to Russia actually invading a country?
There’s nothing analogous about Russia invading a country on its border in response to the latter’s attempt to engulf a region that wants independence, and say, the US invading Iraq.

Iran.

It is hypocritical to ask them to refrain from building civil nuclear facilities when you openly have military nuke research as we speak.
The American intelligence services and/or military have been involved a number of coups all over the globe."

Supposedly …
Supposedly?

I reiterate my suggestion about opening a history book.

Screw Russia!

Good enough for you?
“Russia invaded a country on its immediate border, and is making geopolitical posturing noise about the US’ unilateral withdrawal from the ICBM and plans to place missiles in Moscow’s backyard.”

I am not more sympathetic to separatist causes than I am about Russian aggression. Moscow just happens to be whacking the country trying to subjugate Ossetians, and that makes me sympathetic to their fight. It’s got nothing to do with Sweden. And And no, nobody gets a free pass for gratuitous aggression. I’m just pointing out the obvious: That the ones condoning a foreign policy of bombing and invading countries the world over, are not in the best position to condemn Russia for intervening on its borders.

Probability speaking, a random point X on the planet has a shitload more chances of being attacked by the US than it does by Russia.
“The same Americans throw their hands in the air, talk about Hitler and refer to Russia as evil incarnated.”

They are evil incarnate and so was Hitler
Oh, they’re evil alright. But then again, I believe any form of government large enough is evil as well.

In case you didn’t get my point, I’ll reformulate it one last time: The US government is in no position to be criticizing Russia’s actions, seeing how the latter’s foreign policy is much milder and less interventionist.

Learn a bit about the topic first.

Now, if I were actually defending those particular policies your tu quoque could make sense. But I’m not. So it isn’t.

Just because I have a “Sweden” in the location of my profile doesn’t mean I’ll stick up to its wrongdoings. I am very much opposed to Sweden’s ongoing arm dealing policy.

Hot and bothered? I’d say that it’s US soldiers who are hot for Japanese little girls. And it’s the Japanese people who are bothered about it.

Me, I’m just an outside observer.

Actually, your original point was little more than partisan hackery.

And may I suggest you check world public opinion polls (not the same thing as Poles)? You’ll find that a lot more people are bothered by US foreign policy than by Russia’s. And that’s regardless of whether they’re on the left or on the right.

This here is a financial enterprise. While I don’t doubt TC and the crew are out to educate people and spread the gospel about proper nutrition and training, they’re also after a buck or two. You see, this is not American-Foreign-Policy-Cheering.org so I tend to assume this section of the site doesn’t have an agenda.

So here I am, knocking down idiotic posts about how your military are always the “good guys”.

And again, I don’t hate America. I’m highly critical of its foreign policy.

You have your head so up your ass that you compare military troops paid for by your taxes being dispatched half way across the world to bomb and invade nations, to a tribal and ethnic military conflict triggered by awful living conditions in subsaharian Africa? It is Janjaweed aggression. Whether the killings are systematic and if the term genocide is applicable is up for debate. Now, it should be mentioned that the Janjaweed are the same folks France and US backed with weapons and money last decade for their proxy war against Libya. Is the current conflict the US’ fault? Absolutely not. I personally blame overpopulation and scarcity of food. But one has to wonder if the Janjaweed would have become such an powerful entity had it not been for their fling with the French and American government.

And if you want to drag Islam into it, I suggest you explain how teh current conflict relates to the Sudanese Civil War.

For Bush and Bashir? I wholeheartedly agree.
