Rush Limbaugh - How Talk Radio Works
In all honestly, I’m not racist, but he was onto something when he accused the NFL of favoring blacks. McNabb probably wasn’t the best person to target, and it made him look like an idiot when McNabb went out and had a career year the following season. A perfect example of this is the requirement of all teams to interview a non-white person for head coach before making a hire. Why the hell should that be required? I’ll be okay with that rule once they start making at least one white wide receiver start a game for every team in every season.
Also, McNabb is considered on a level much higher than he has performed. All it takes is a look at the statistics and he just doesn’t compete with Brady, Manning, and Brees, but yet he is still looked at as on their level. Perhaps Philly fans just have opinions that aren’t so manipulated by the media. McNabb doesn’t suck, but the media may be giving him a bit too much love.

First, I never hear anyone put McNabb into the class of elites. He’s definitely good, but not elite. Maybe I don’t listen to enough sports radio.
Next, taking Manning out of the equation, statistically McNabb, is very close to Brady (minus his 50 TD season) Brees. And Brees didn’t start putting up real good number until he got to New Orleans. Brees and Brady consistently had had higher completion percentages, but everything else is pretty close.
McNabb also hasn’t had a lot of good receivers to work with. When the Patriots signed Moss, we got to see what Brady could do with a top tier receiver – and he it was pretty amazing. Well the one time McNabb had a great receiver – 2004, with a motivated T.O. – he had his best year statistically. He hasn’t has any receivers since then.
Finally, remember, often a quarterback’s success is measured by the team’s success. You know how it goes. Quarterbacks get all the credit for a win and all the blame for a loss. Fair or not, that’s how it is. Well the Eagles have been pretty successful. Five NFC Championship games since McNabb’s arrival and only one losing season.
The one definite knock on McNabb is his durability. He never plays a whole season and it seems he is always injured or nursing an injury. He seems a little fragile.
Is he definitely elite? No, but he’s not far off from those three at all.

Surprised?
No, you’ve already shown over in PWI that you lack good judgement and critical thinking skills.
At this point, the Rams almost deserve this kind of punishment though.
I disagree, they have suffered though enough and don’t deserve this buffoon

McNabb isn’t even close to Brees. I don’t see how you can view them as close performance-wise. McNabb just doesn’t compare when you look at yards, completion percentages, and TD/Int ratios. Brees’ receievers never did much before he was there. The Saints pretty much throw random people in the lineup and have them do extremely well.
Brady consistently put up better numbers even before Moss came around. His year with Moss makes McNabb’s year with TO look like crap.
Manning has had great teams around him so I won’t make too much of a comparison there, but I think Manning is clearly better.
It’s not like those are the only three, though. Just the three that came off the top of my head. I’m not saying he’s bad, but he’s definately not elite.

If he’s a buffoon can you even imagine where that places you on the sliding scale of intelligencia?
Considerably higher than you think. I also did not denigrate his intellect which I do respect. I refer to his public behavior and beliefs which I do not. Now please stop humping his leg…what are you his bitch or something?

Have you taken a look at the Youtube link I posted? Rush is quite proud of his level of buffoonary. It takes a high level of intellect to manipulate the masses as he does. It also takes an absence of morality.
Rush Limbaugh’s job is not so much to inform, but rather to entertain. He does inform, but that really isn’t what his job is. He is supposed to get viewers, and he is the best there is. Who listens to the radio to hear somebody who isn’t controversial and likes to share views that don’t really lean strongly one way or the other? Basically, if nobody hates you, you aren’t doing your job.
The funny thing is, that as the video shows quite clearly, the people who accuse Rush of being obnoxious, are generally more obnoxious than he is. The funny thing is, liberals think that show was “bullying” Rush. In reality, they made themselves look like idiots, and just simply added to his fame.

I agree. Since Brees has been with the Saints he has been putting up all-star numbers. With San Diego, his numbers were much more pedestrian. There’s a number of ways to look at this. He had LT and played Marty-ball in San Diego. His first couple years in NO he played with a horrible defense and go to air it out a lot in shoot outs. Or he could just plain be a better player now that he’s older.
In any event, I think McNabb was very comparable to Brees in San Diego, other than completion percentage, which is a very legitimate knock on McNabb. However, McNabb compared to Brees, now – the gap is much wider.

Come on. Be fair. That year makes almost every quarterback’s year in history look like crap.

No disagreement here. Manning is absolutely better.
I’d be hard-pressed to think of anyone beyond those three right now. Favre could be hit or miss. He could be the 2007 Packers Favre or 2008 Jets Favre. You could debate the likes of Flacco, Rodgers, or Ryan, but I haven’t seen enough years to be convinced yet.
We agree that he’s not elite. I just think we disagree on how wide the gap is.

9 times out of 10.
President of the USA (hopefully) and NFL team owner? That’s a lot on the plate for El-Rushmo.

Rush would never run for president, he’s said that many times.

Remember, those who disagree with Obama or in this instance those who agree with Rush are automatically racist. It’s a law of physics.
Edit: That was a general statement and not directed at my buddy, WS.
No worries old timer, and while we do disagree on some things here, I’m sure some of my own political beliefs will change when I’m older, have money in the bank, been around the block a few times, etc.
And even though I’m an Obama supporter, I know enough not to shout racism after every time somebody argues against Obama.
