In other news it seems that Ron Paul is polling pretty well in Iowa at the moment: Iowa Republican Presidential Caucus Preference

He was polling only 3% in April. Now only 3 months later he is at 14%? I’ve got to admit that is a startling climb. So much the better though, if this poll means anything that is.

Take chill pill Ormus. Dude, I wasn’t insinuating this means he’s going to win. I just found it surprising that he’s 14% considering he was about 1-2% last time. And I have no idea whether or not this poll means anything at all which is why i posted it. In fact, I was hoping for your input from you and others, although without the adolescent condescension.

What are the most reliable polls, if any, in your book?

You see this whole Paul thing is deserving of adolescent condescension and if I can’t do that then the Paul thread becomes even more useless than it already is because most of the entertainment value is now gone.

Paul was “done” the day he entered the race. Unless of course someone can explain how an almost 79 year old man (a Congressman no less) who has the misfortune of coming off like an eccentric geezer is going to defeat all of the other republicans and then go on to defeat Obama.

You see no one can explain how this happens because it cannot happen.

And keep in mind I’ve seen plenty of weird stuff happen in the many years I’ve been involved in (and aware of) politics. But nothing even remotely close to that weird has ever happened.

Newsletters! Doesn’t matter if he really is racist, he collected the checks for use of his name. He’s on auto loss. The very second he’d receive the nomination, the only talk about nominee Ron Paul, all the way up to elections, would be about the newsletters. He screwed himself.

Of course, outside of the usual flocking to meaningless polls, he won’t even get that far.

I take my vote very seriously and wouldn’t even consider throwing it away on Ron Paul, or any other candidate that I did not fully believe had at least a chance of ousting Obama. So no thank you Lifty. But kudos on a very good tactic. If you can get enough people to go for your idea Paul might actually finish out of last place.

I’ve never understood this racist accusation (something that some people seem to direct toward others with impunity). If Ron Paul is such a “racist” toward Jews then explain something to me. Why are his two biggest economic influences Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard. He even has their pictures prominently displayed in his congressional office.

Also he wants to end wars that kill “brown people” overseas and wants to end the war on drugs which has disproportionately injured the black community. The racist accusation makes no sense at all regardless of some newsletters written a million years ago by somebody else.

It’s crazy talk.

Yet, McCain, Obama, and others have no problem either killing thousands of human beings or imprisoning people for taking a tote from a marijuana cigarette. Anyone see the absolute absurdity here?

The whole “throwing your vote away” argument is about as shit stupid as it gets. Voting your convictions is what we’re all supposed to be doing, in case some of you had forgot, and if Ron Paul represents your convictions then that’s who you should be voting for, it’s as simple as that.

Or maybe having your “team” win is super duper important, important enough to “throw your vote away” on a slick talking, well moneyed candidate who only kinda sorta meets up with your convictions. Yea…that’s a whole bunch of smart.
