Ron Paul On The Record

I don’t think there are rules against foreigners donating to the supports of candidate but you cannot give directly to a candidate.

This is to help people who want to go to NH to campaign for Dr. Paul which is being organized by Vijay Boyapati, formerly of Google, for Operation: Live Free or Die.

Every little bit helps.
Can´t.

Today, I came across the Wikipedia page about Charles Lindbergh’s father. Have a look at some the quotes attributed to him:
“This [Federal Reserve Act] establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President (Woodrow Wilson) signs this bill, the invisible government of the monetary power will be legalized…the worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency bill.”[4]
Also quoted as:
“This Act establishes the most gigantic trust on Earth. When the President signs this bill, the invisible government by the Monetary Power will be legalized, the people may not know it immediately but the day of reckoning is only a few years removed… The worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking bill.”
Obviously, you can’t read such statements today and not think about their connection to what Ron Paul is saying.

Here’s another interesting anecdote: I keep reading about all of these historic Republican and conservative iconoclasts, of which Ron Paul is, today, the most prominent member. Paul is also one of the few remaining adherents of the paleoconservative school of thought. However, if you look at American politics in the 20th century, you’ll find numerous examples of high-profile figures in American politics who took similar views. And the interesting thing about them is that the majority of them were Midwestern Congressmen, Senators, Governors, etc…

They defied the establishment by opposing the various wars, demanding hard money, and fighting the growth of the Welfare State in the 60’s and beyond.

Practically all of them were from the Midwest, quite notably. They represented small-town America, espousing the values of the heartland, and stood in opposition to the East Coast/Wall Street establishment.

The majority of them had ancestry in the countries of Northern Europe. Germany and Scandinavia. These ethnic groups came to populate the Midwestern states, as they still do today. Ron Paul was born in Pennsylvania, but he is of German descent, as well.

Another example of an old school Republican in this mold would be Warren Buffet’s father, Howard (Scandinavian ancestry).

So we have a connection between Ron Paul and other “traditional conservatives” of years past, which is further extended by ethnic ties to Northern Europe and Scandinavia.

Does anyone care to comment on this? Are there people on this board who live in the Midwest and share the same ethnic background?

In the sense that they are 100 years out of date?

So somehow there is a connection among the stalwart fair-haired Nordics, whose plows broke the plains, and…it lead to…none other than Ron Paul!

Do you think it plausible that Republicans from farm communities (think grain and agricultural service economies) would champion “Free Silver” and fear the Federal Reserve System for something other than ethnic reasons? Did “Dutch” and “German” Progressives think the same way because of their ethnic heritage.

Good Lord, man: read a book! Or at least have a little curiosity about a real world, and not the pale casuistic construction to which you subscribe.

Al Shades/Nominal Prospect,

One simple question: do you believe in racial superiority?

I guess I wasn’t the only one to get such an impression from his last post.

I have seen it in other posts as well.

I am more of a cunning linguist.

i may not agree with everything ron paul says, but i belive everything he says is what HE thinks and what he says he WILL try and do…unlike everyone else in any sort of political power.

Gladly…upon submission of a 500 word essay on what liberty means to you. Have you ever strung more than 500 words together on this site?

Why would I bother? I can get my point across much more effectively without boring everyone to tears.

Sadly, you’re wrong on both counts.

Hmm…it’s looking like our friend Nommy is a closet racist…now who would have ever thought that?
We still have no answer.

But he has announced himself to be a fascist, and claims to be a sexist.

He has hinted at racism before, but I figure we put the question directly to him. But then, maybe he is only .9 of a racist.

And, when one starts to whine that going after Ron Paul’s followers has nothing to do with Paul’s candidacy - it is always a treat to remind them that Paul has to get the votes of the mainstream voter, and Paul’s “ambassadors” might as well be his worst enemies.

Put a twerp like Nommy in front of a normal undecided voter and Hillary Clinton suddenly looks like George Washington.

Which is why politics is filled with scummy people.

Politics is full of scummy people because putting fascist-racist-sexists in front of normal people makes them vote for people who aren’t fascist-racist-sexists?

As usual, Lifticus, you have shown us how vacant your mind really is.

You’ll get your answer tomorrow. I’m going to bed now.

Not surprising - this is the same sniveling response you had when I demanded you explain your proclamation that you were a “fascist”.

I will be disappointed in your cowardly equivocation, I am certain.
