Romney Ridiculed Helping Hurricane Victims

I thought my efficient government program remark would be a dead giveaway but I suppose there are some brain dead individuals who believe in things like efficient government, Santa Claus, vampires, and the like.

In that video they say Obama is being compassionate by stating that the Red Cross is doing their job. Also, they say that by going to visit the site of the destruction he is very compassionate and shows a true difference between the candidates. I’m pretty sure it is the president’s job to go to the site. So you’re telling me that Romney, by holding a food drive isn’t being compassionate and trying to help the American people. These people are disgusting. Not one time do they say Romney’s food drive, although going against guidelines, is compassionate and a beneficial to the victims. Idiots…
What guidelines does it go against? When I didn’t have $10 to give, I’d bring stuff I already owned to supply drives. Many people do this and Red Cross sees it as a secondary, but an absolutely valid method of helping them out in their mission to give relief to victims.
I don’t know, I was quoting from the video. I don’t agree with how the media portrayed him.

To this day it blows my mind that people don’t know that the American Red Cross is actually a business. You donate blood and they actually SELL it to hospitals, clinics, disaster zones.

There are posters who post here regularly who believe that government is the answer. Fortunately, many of them have been driven from PWI because their arguments are faulty and they got sick of getting their asses handed to them in a debate. But there’s still 5 or 6 of the big government people who hang around here.

Depends on what media you are talking about.

The official mouthpiece of the state has no good reason to report news with integrity - especially with regard to Obama’s competition.

Let me give some comment from the other side of this topic. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and was a “victim” of Hurricane Katrina. The Red Cross was freakin’ awesome afterwards. They gave out meals and supplies, as well as pre-loaded debit cards that helped a lot of people. MANY smaller organizations (mostly churches) also had locations to distribute the kinds of goods being collected at Romney’s event.

These also helped a lot of people. In some cases, these were actually more helpful. We were able to get some canned goods and cleaning supplies from these locations when a pre-loaded debit card did little good because stores either weren’t open or were EXTREMELY under-stocked.

I kind of want to go off on a tangent about the efficacy of these church organizations as opposed to government programs, but I’ll stay on topic and just say that Romney’s event certainly served a useful purpose. Those items will be much appreciated by whomever gets them.

The media should do a story about how much money Al Gore made selling his Green bullshit, then selling all his stock right before it all tanked.

Yeah, I mean most reasonable people get this. And 5k of food and supplies is a ton of tuna and Peanut Butter.

The fact the left is up in arms about this and trying to make it a political attack is pathetic beyond words.

Not likely to happen since most of the media believe in man made climate change and that instances of climate change prior to the past 100 years were mere happenstance.

Besides, Algore was simply trying to raise money to further his educational efforts so that he can prevent the world from melting. Profit motive is clearly irrelevant in his case.

And then groping the massage therapist and then his wife leaving him and then…oh wait those are other topics.

Hey, I don’t like the guy and wanted to pile on.
