Roe v. Wade: 42 Years in the Past

So, having come back after a day to 12 more pages than were here yesterday, I’ve tried to catch up. I’m gettting tired of it. Currently at page 22

But I do want to say that Beans you are one of my favorite posters (as Varq–who is another of my favorite people–and others have recognized as well), and that I very much did appreciate reading your story on faith and your perspective. I had an inkling you weren’t an atheist any more, but I couldn’t actually tell for sure :). At any rate, thoughtful and honest and I really like reading that.

Confusion, I’m glad you stopped by, and hope you’ll stay around even with all the BS and mental battles going on here. You seem intelligent and even keeled, which are always welcome. This forum gets combative, and perhaps all the more so because many of the current posters in this particular thread–though not all–have been part of PWI for at least 6 years, therefore having had many many of these same threads and same posts pop up again.

This is not the case with all threads, but some hot button issues that have been done 12 or so times do get that way.

That’s why I’m not responding. I’m at the stage now where I don’t actually believe that they’re serious. I don’t believe that they actually believe this stuff. It’s a game. They’re just trying to rile people up.

Feeling’s mutual man.

And wow guys. I never expected people to actually get anything out of that, lol.

It’s really funny honestly how it came about too. In the end it is all because I wanted to save kids lives.

I met some Shriners, and they were awesome people, who have a great time doing wonderful things for other people (kids in this instance.) I wanted to be a Shriner. Well to be a Shriner, you have to be a Mason.

So really thought about it. Whether I could “fake it”. (Which you can’t. If you fake it, or are thinking about it, don’t become a Mason. If you would fake that, you aren’t the type of person that belongs there.) Whether I actually did believe?

You want to know what sealed it for me? I was at Lowes, and backing out of my spot like I always do, and have done a couple thousand times. For some reason I stopped, just hit the brakes. As I looked in the mirror I saw the car drive behind me. I hadn’t seen it before I stopped. First thing I did was look up at my ceiling and say thank you. That is when I knew I believed.

Such a trivial little thing, and the key was my reaction. If there is no God, or if there is, and even still God had nothing to do with stopping me, I knew right then, I believed, for better or worse, I did.

My point is, you don’t have the balls to mock Muslims. Certainly not to their face. And of course, Christians being harmless and Muslins being an existential threat to everyone on the planet, one group is more deserving of contempt and mockery than the other. Can you guess which one?

You made this phoney assertion before and I reminded you that I never said you were intolerant or bullying.
However when gay kids hang themselves because of these moronic bible thumpers it is just an opinion :)
Gay kids hang themselves “because of” Christians? Is that true is it? How about in Muslim countries? How would a gay person faire in say…Saudi Arabia, as opposed to a Christian neighbourhood in the US? Is there a significant difference?
Muslims are a threat but christians are not?

Tell that to the African victims of genocide by Christians in the recent past, tell that to the homosexuals who live in nations where governments backed by western eangelicals are trying to pass gay laws which have the death penalty and life in prison for being gay.

How about the large numbers of christians practising female genital mutilation in Africa and the middle east?

Stop pretending christians are not capable and often do the very same shit and no not hundreds of years ago, still!
Okay, so you’ve shown you’re not a serious poster. I’m not interested in debating with someone who is not serious/honest.
Ha, i accept your forfeit when shown that christians are still commiting religious attacks and genocides, just like muslims.

Difference is i criticise both and all religious nutters, you go after specific ones, others you don’t.

Kind of like liberals who were ok with pisschrist but not with drawing that pedophile Muhammad, except you would be up in arms about the desecration of western judeo christian culture over pisschrist, but smugly gloat about the Muhammad cartoons.

I support both.

So you lied about being an atheist against abortion and claimed christian morals had nothing to do with it in the first pages, now we know you were lying.

DING DING DING

Does not even blink at lying in order to push agenda driven nonsense.

No, I’m complaining because your about to run the whole “but da muslimz aren’t any worse than the chirztianz who are super awful evilz” bullshit you always do, all the while dancing about barely hiding your hatred of Jews.

It’s tiring, and based off yappy McAtheist above, this threat is going to turn to utter shit now.

True? It’s a question of having an honest account of what he’s saying. It is profoundly dishonest to try to equate Islam and Christianity and suggest they’re moral equivalencies. It’s profoundly dishonest to mention a sub-Saharan African animist voodoo lunatic who burns a “witch” alive. That has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with the primitive, savage animism of Africa. Understand? It’s not worth my time arguing with someone who knowingly distorts the truth and lies. People that do that are actually culpable; they have blood on their hands. They act as apologists for the millions and millions of Muslims across the globe who marched in support of the Charlie Hebdo murders in the last few weeks, and all the Islamic leaders who urge their followers to murder. That’s part of the reason I don’t waste my time with people like that.

Bingo! Yes. And anyone who pretends otherwise is being profoundly dishonest.

If I have you confused with someone else, I apologize, but yeah… I know where you’re going with this question, if I don’t.

Pushharder, regarding free will…I kamgine you may have explained your take on this concept before, but I’m new to the forum. For me,the question comes down to:we have the right to accept God,or reject him. However,if we take it further and say we have the right to accept God and salvation,or reject him and be damned for eternity, that to my mind is not free will at all. There is really only one honest option, assuming the rest is true.
