When asked why they were filibustering the bill at least two Republican Senators, Brownback and Ensign, confirmed that the reason was that they had vowed to block ALL legislation until the extensions of the Bush tax cuts was confirmed… Seriously, what a bunch of fucking cocks.
This is who your Republican Senators are… they are self-absorbed, out of touch assholes who are more dedicated to winning than to doing the right thing.

Ya know what, I definitely sympathize with what you and your buddy saw. I lived with a vet who’d done 3 tours in Iraq and literally had trophies made from all the hum-vees he was inside when they blew up. Somehow he’s still living and whole. I’ve heard shit from him I don’t particularly want to see for myself.
But don’t fucking pretend for a minute your Dems are not equally guilty of the very thing you are blaming republicans for. Yes, I agree it’s bullshit and self-serving, but where was your indignation when Dems were abusing procedure and protocol to push THEIR agendas through, and against massive call-ins from constituents around the country that flooded the phones? Do I really have to recount all the ways Pelosi and company ran a train over what is “proper” to get their agenda through?
Don’t pretend like the Reps are any fucking worse. They both do it and it’s hideous when it happens on either side, but I’m not going to sit here and let you play partisan because your fucking party is just as bad.
EDIT—I don’t mean any personal animosity towards you swole, just the partisanship going on around everybody these days. PTSD is very real and very shitty–reference my roommate again…This general issue is burning on my brain for a while. So, sorry for my pointed words. I’m not deleting them, but they’re not meant for your individual person as much as this issue as a whole.
