I’ve also got a question for you Sloth: Will the conservative branch support Gingrich? I think you said they would just stay at home for Romney, what about Newt?
Thanks for your thoughts.
I don’t think his chances are great. For social conservatives it’s his personal life. Right now, there’s probably a number of conservatives unaware of his marital issues. True, he’s now supposedly a devout Catholic. Yet, while that’s enough (repentant) on a personal level, is it enough to get votes? Dunno. Next, he’s put forth some questionable ideas–potentially even flip-flops.
Look, he’s a sharp guy, and I’d love to see him debate Obama. I am convinced any such debates would be one-sided in favor of Gingrich. But, the guy has some baggage that may or may not be widely known as of yet. Will it all be overlooked, hoping he has squared away his personal life, in order to advance an anti-Romney that can argue big ideas with Obama? Dunno. When he’s speaking, I admire him as a speaker, a debater. Moreso, than with any other candidate. But, I still don’t know that I’d be willing to vote for the guy.
There really isn’t a my-kind-of-conservative running. So IF, I vote for a Republican I’ll have to settle for someone. I suspect it’ll be the same for a great many conservatives, a settling. Will it be for a non-Romney candidate? Or, will they settle for Romney ultimately? Dunno. Either way, does just settling get out the vote adequately? Again, dunno.
Plus, not everyone digs the “Newt Look.” The one he gives before destroying some individual over a statement or question.
Very, Very interesting. Do you think a third party candidate could come and take the conservative vote? Would you personally be willing to vote 3rd party if it was your kind of candidate?

An active enemy combatant during an ongoing conflict. As he had not surrendered, and was indeed acting in the capacity of his role up to the last second of his life, he was a legit target. When you begin equating fascism with the killing of active enemy combatants in the field, you immediately lose all credibility. Not every Confederate had to be arrested on a warrant. Or if you’re a Rothbardian secessionist, not every Union blue needed to be taken alive.
Yeah, sure.
He was an “enemy combatant”.
The moment you play word games without any proof whatsoever, not only your credibility does not matter anymore, because you not only just chucked out 1000 years of western civilization, you also ring the death knell for your country.
Well, good luck with that.
PS: you need a song.
if it is to be fascism then I want this flavor, please.
Overdone. Someone needs to change the “That’s racism” gif into “That’s fascism!”

Don’t know. And yes.

Incitement is not a crime. Encouraging people to rape and murder, while disgusting and immoral, should not be prohibited.

Sure, dissemination of secrets of national security, or commonly known, treason.

Only if you are leaking information you are contractually bound to keep hidden? Otherwise, not really. Talking isn’t a crime.
