I have created my own hybrid workout of TBT and 10x3 and so far it seems to be yielding pretty good gains in both size and strenght. I planned on doing 3 weeks and then incorporating a recovery week. Here’s the question(s) First the only thing that I know about recovery weeks is that I still lift only I cut back on the volume and slightly decrease the weight used. Is this correct? and if so how much do I cut the volume back?
The second part is I would really like to know what my 1 RM is for squats, deads, and flat bench. So, could I determine my max for these three lifts this week and consider that recovery? If I do this would it be best to max out on one lift each day (MWF) or to max on all three the same day? I dont recall the last time I maxed out on anything and I have been using my calculated 1rm for all my lifts thus far. I am thinking that if I start a little under what my calculated max is then I can work my way up to the actual…sound reasonable? I think Spike improves typing speed which is directly related to lenght of post!
