She has made ~$1,000,000 from her 36,000,000 views. Who is laughing now? Not fuzzy.

Not really but you are somewhat right. Youtube payout goes like this. Views /1000 X $1.50 is more like $54,000 but she has 2 million itunes downloads at 99 cents so it’s more like $2,054,000 in 4 weeks and all it cost her mom was $2000 for production.

not even close… the payout is hard to determine because it differs from partner to partner but the general consensus or at least what is reported is roughly 14-16k from views… and ~27k from sales… and thats not even her cut. But apparently shes donating it all anyways. The Forbes estimate I assume you’re quoting was false.

Either way… cost 2k to do the video etc… so its a solid profit. No hate from me… even though this has to be the worst song I’ve ever heard in my life.

So this motherfucker gets paid for every time the fucking youtube gets played?

We have to start a groundswell NOW that ends this fucking disaster.

Ok i found a youtube version of the Conan song.

This shit is hilarious.

This thread is fantastic. Great lyrics, reminds me of songs like:

Dom puts it in perspective…

.

The 13-year old singer recently signed with a major music label, and has now revealed the name of her next single: LOL.

“I like the fact I am singing like a 13-year-old girl, not trying to be anything else,” Black says, previewing her upcoming album and adding:

“I would consider some [songs] teenage love songs but I want to keep it appropriate and clean. People were saying, ‘You’re the worst singer, this is the worst song.’ They criticized my voice and the lyrics. But I call them negative Nancies. They can try to rain on my parade but as far as I’m concerned they are raining on their own parade.”

My name isn’t Nancy!!!

This thread has had so much win… :`(

Tears of joy

I think this song made such an impact because in soooo many ways it sounds exactly like a smash pop hit. I guess the best parody is from somebody who doesn’t know they are a parody lol!

I actually found it cute. It’s a kids song sung by a kid that KNOWS she’s just a kid. We all thought or felt we were awesome at things when we were kids. The only difference is that her parents support her and the technology and demographic is now there. Not gonna hate on it. And I’m probably not going to listen to it again. Cute, though.

Yes, the article came out on April 1st. She is joking. Plus, she admitted it was just a catchy pop song way before this.

Interesting take. The ironic thing is how many of the kids hating on this song have Pink on their IPods, whose lyrics are just as inane and sound like they’re written by a couple of 5th graders.
