Reality Show Chick Goes PSYCHO

I guess that money wasn’t so darksided after all. Does anyone think she asked the doctor who performed the gastric bypass whether he belonged to the Dark Side?

All joking aside, I feel sad for that family. Those kids looked troubled, which I don’t blame them for.

If my mother were like that, and I hadn’t been allowed to watch Star Wars growing up, I would be troubled too.

That’s what gets me. She claimed the money was tainted by the “dark side” then accepted it in the end.

Pepole like this gives Christians a bad name.

Poor kids.

Ah, our western society. I’m so proud I could puke.

I watched the show in question (Trading Spouses, I think). Basically, the producers knew that she was very religious, and so they put her with a Wiccan/Nature worship family that does tarot readings, etc. To give them credit, they listened to her beliefs, respected them, and didn’t try to change her mind. The father in the wiccan family has a radio show, and she went on it with him… that’s when things really went downhill. The father had invited a ‘psychic’ onto the show, but she felt that this was devil worship, and got very, very upset. The final straw was when she got home and realized that the mother from the other family had been spending lots of time with her children (as she was supposed to), and felt that this woman’s “evil” ways might’ve corrupted them. Maybe she thought the producers would guarantee her another Christian family to swap with… who knows.

I saw this episode… it was either wife swapp ot trading spouses. She was insane. The other family had a big party to celebrate the sumemr solstace and she considered it “ungodly and satanic”. They had a little tradition where everyone at the party would toss something into a fire (I forget what it was, it was just a little stick or something) and she freaked out about it. What a nut. Im an atheist but am fine with religion, it’s generally a good thing for a lot of people… but thats just taking it way to far.

what disturbs me most about this clip was not the ravings of a fat lunatic who decided to latch on to “Jesus” b/c her life is completely devoid of anything else -

but the scared shitless look on the faces of her family members - especially the husband - just shoot that poor bastard to put him out of his misery. That dude is definitely going to heaven for having to put with that miserable bitch for a lifetime.

I predict all her kids are going to become Satan-worshipping pagans. It’s only a matter of time.

wow - the Bible belt sure is a fucked up place. [/quote]

Your last statement is as ignorant as the idiot in that video (if, infact, it is not staged).

Christopher

I have no way of knowing for sure, but I would not be surprised at all if that was staged. I know there are people out there that are equally or more crazy, but it made for “entertaining” television, so I would not put it past them to stage it.

And I would hope the good people here at T-Nation would not have to be reminded of this, but that behavior is not indicative of the way in which Christ would have His follower(s) to act.

Christopher

yeah she’s nuts. maybe she should read the Da Vinci Code, that would give her something to really complain about

She started out being very good-natured (if selfish). I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some things hidden from the audience that contributed to the ‘breakdown’ at the end.

It’d hit me…

I couldn’t watch more than about a minutes worth, what a piece of shit.

It sets me off just thinking about it. Yeesh, some people eh?

Monopoly

This same lady was on Maury a few years ago when her daughter was trying to figure out who her baby’s daddy was. Good Christian family indeed.

“I AM A GOD WARRIOR!!!”

Evidently you didn’t hear him call his wife a “bullshit warrior” under his breath.

Is that what he said? I was trying to figure it out. Thanks for that. Funny as hell.

I am an atheist and could care less about people’s religion but people like her are just plain nuts.

This was all over the net a few months ago right after it aired. My kid (age 21) and I went around calling each other “dork-sided gorgls and slykicks” for about a week.

What an ugly, stupid, fat peice of shit. The husband should be tied to a chair and beat with hammers for letting his children grow up with that cunt for a mother.

Watch it again, and concentrate on the little girls face. No way this is not child abuse, at least psychologically.

Is anything worse than white trash?

Bizarre. But you gotta give her credit for speaking out for something she belives in so passionately. Sad though, how she was terrifying her children. I could never understand “normal” people who marry and stay married to bizarre, psychiatric or domineering partners like that, especially when seeing the effects upon the children, like in this case.

Your last comment is extremely ignorant and it somewhat offends me. I am a very religious person who happens to live in the bible belt. I will admit that the lady does freak out, but to say that about a great region of the country where most people actually care about others is very closemided. By the way am am a Yankee by birth and lived in the north for 26 years before becoming transplanted to the south. I have very little desire to return to the north. I find “Southern Hospitality” very inviting.

Dude, don’t get your panties in a bunch.

You are taking this out of context - I implied that there are a lot of people in the Bible Belt that think like this - same places you’ll find museums that show men riding dinosaurs and trying to deny science and teach creationism in school.

They may be nice people - but them psycho-fringe Christian fundamentalists are fucking wackjobs. A vast majority of them just happen to live in the Bible belt.

Let me guess - you’re a Christian from the South?

Lighten the fuck up.

I am a Christian. I live in North Carolina. I have been “bulking” for quite a while and have just decided I do need to shed a little fat, so I am planning to lighten up.

Being a Christian from the South is not, in my opinion, relevant. Even though I am guilty of it also, I try really hard not make blanket statements. It seems to me that is one of the biggest complaints about Christianity (and most religions). When blanket statements are made, and they are usually made out of ignorance, people tend to think of the person who made the statement as being close minded. I could be wrong, but by the way you worded it, it sounds as though you have never been to the “bible belt”. Even if you have, I still would find it to be quite unfair to make such a comment about the entire area.

Yeah, the “bible belt” is quite messed up. In fact, it seems to me that the majority of the world meets that defintion. I personally don’t feel that has anything to do with the amount of Christians living in any area. Rather, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that humans can be very nasty people. It is unfortunate, but something I believe to be true. The only thing I know to do is to pray for the well being of my fellow human and live the best life I can. Trust me, I mess up a lot, but I honestly try my best to be a kind, gentle, compassionate, caring person.

I apologize if my post offended you in any way. That was certainly not my intent. Maybe I could have found a better way to word my point. However, there is nothing I can do about that now. Your statement just seemed a little unfair and incorrect, so I was trying to point out the ignorance of your statement so you would hopefully understand that not everyone in the South, Christian or not, is like the freak in the video.

Yeah, the hypocritical bitch.

After seeing that, Child Services should step in, and take her kids away. The youngest daughter looked like she was going to have a heart attack.

Religion- it is on the decline, all over the Western World, except for one country. Guess which one.
