For real. I just want to be half as awesome as Simo Hayha now. However, I don’t know if “White death” will fit me well.
Pick your targets carefully.

I disagree, no matter how bad ass your unit is, friendly fire just happens during the fog of war.

Somehow I missed the post above yours, NvrTooLate- and I’d only reinforce what you wrote by adding that unfortunately, in the profession of arms it’s a tragic reality. More than people realize.

When someone who has no practical experience in such matters writes a statement as though it were unequivocal fact- based upon something they read written by a journalist (opinonated POV), and not a soldier it is totally without merit, and only underscores their ignorance. If you’re not-so-subtly implying that CPL Tillman was murdered…well then. Please stick to just being quietly unaware.
I was responding to someone posting that Tillman was Fragged. Let me state again, I don’t think he was. I think it was another case of accidental friendly fire which happens during the confusion in a combat situation. It’s not like a video game. And yes, you’re right I’m not a soldier. I’m a former Marine with combat experience.

Next time don’t use such sophisticated language in order to prove your point. You come off as being vague. Just be short and to the point.

Graeme Souness. Tough tackling football player who had a tendency to lodge his football studs deep into the groins of many a player. Bossed the midfield with authority and more importantly, a perm and 'tache combo. Also took his life into his own hands by planting a Galatasaray flag in the centre circle of their mortal enemies, Fenerbahce, pitch. That took balls.

Souness = Borat?

There. Satisfied?

Wasn’t addressing you- I can see where I wasn’t quite clear on that. My post was meant for the person who wrote “Rangers don’t get shot by other Rangers for no reason.”

I probably took the original poster’s statement for more than it was worth. Krakauer’s recent book comes to some BS conclusions about his death- and I assumed he was referring to it.

I knew we were in agreement. I like you couldn’t stand idly by while someone made a statement like that.

Keep your powder dry and your hatchet sharp dude, good luck out there.

Pat Tillman. A legend who turned his back on a money spinning career in American Rugby to go and kill some insurgent scum for his beloved country. A jawline that was fit to adorn Mount Rushmore. Pat We will never forget your kind. RIP
Very impressive indeed; however, did the afghan insurgents have a price on his head when he made his record shot? I think not.

I still wouldn’t want to be in an open field with him though!

He was the Canadian who killed that Taliban cockbag child molester with the .50 cal right?

I just read somewhere that he got in all kinds of trouble (like, Geneva convention/UN) for using a weapon specified for attacking equipment to shoot a person, but got out of it by saying he was aiming for the ordinance dude was holding and hit him in error.
