Uncooked Oatmeal has been a staple of mine for years, I have told many others about it and 99% of them love it as well. I buy the quick cook oats in the large container. When bulking I find it extremely easy to get my healthy carbs this way, I’ll drink 6 cups a day (2 cups oatmeal, 2 scoops Protein powder and 16oz of water, I just use a shaker cup). This is 324 carbs from a great source, there is no way that I could “eat” all that oatmeal.
Huh, guess it’s only me then.
If it works, go for it.

The only time I ever had that, er, problem was once I ate a serving of yogurt while on antibiotics. That was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had, and it lasted two freaking days! I compounded the problem because after the 1st day I thought “whoa I have a problem, maybe some yogurt will help” and I ate another one!
You don’t want to know what my toilet bowl looked like.
So now I know not to eat yogurt until after you’re done with the antibiotics.

If you’re talking about rolled oats, they’re not raw. They’re steamed and rolled flat, so they’re at least partially cooked.
The raw oats would be steel cut, or whole oat groats. I wouldn’t put those in your shake.[/quote]
What he said. I think a lot of people, both on this post and in general, are confused about the difference in “uncooked” and “raw”. In fact, I’m not even sure the steel cut or whole oat groats are truly raw. I think they are even steamed before packaging. Seems I remember reading a long time ago (somewhere on this site, actually) that to even obtain raw grains you must go through a special source, some sort of bulk provider; you can’t just buy them at any grocery store. Most people cannot digest raw oats and would get very sick from even trying to do so.
As far as uncooked goes, I’ve been consuming them this way for a long time and have no problem as long as I mix them with something else, which any smart eater should be doing anyway (solo carbs = not good). Cottage cheese, uncooked oats and a little skim milk to soften the oats is a good one.
Watch the Multi w/ Fiber thing, I think it was a Cool Tip just a few days back. It’s not a great combo.
