If I’m not mistaken feuer frei translates to fire freely which basically means fire at will.

I saw them open for Slipknot years ago.During Du Hast the lead singer set himself on fire and stood at the mic with his arm out like a cross, it was pretty bad ass.

Might have a corny childrens story behind it but I love this one.
As a linguist and fluent german speaker, gotta say that songs are really hard to translate. Just like you can’t really translate poetry, idioms or jokes from one to another.
A few years ago, a german pop singer tried to translate the lyrics of a springsteen song into german and it SUCKED bigtime.
One song i haven’t seen mentioned here is Mutter–great angry song!

I saw them at the FV tour years ago and have listened to them since and I find it to be good music in the gym or getting pumped up about doing anything.
Like this song but I can do with out the video and I don’t want it translated again was a little disturbed with some of the translation of it

The Mutter CD is probably the best one but the one song I use most in the gym is Wo Bist Du.
