Cy, can you tell us more about cactus flower as an anti-estrogen?
It couldn’t be used as an anti-estrogen per se, but rather an aromatase inhibitor. In vitro it has been shown in human cells to inhibit both aromatase and 5-AR(alpha reductase). This is far from conclusive evidence but it is fairly good. Still we don’t know what the effective dosages would be and I’ve seen some related evidence(through a similar plant) that has shown this type of plant may also reduce testosterone formation by inhibting the dehydrogenase enzymes, with the plant essentially containing dehydrogenase oxidase. This isn’t conclusive however. Anyhow, it’s something that “may be beneficial” but more research is needed. I know that phrase has become a cliche, but it’s true, especially in this case.
Thanks Cy
No, thank you! Seriously, no problem bud, glad I could help.
CY:
Does your protein concept thingy work. How have your results been with it? Thanks bro!
It works, but more efficient post-workout nutritional designs have come about since then. More specifically, John Berardi’s post-workout concoction. However, my concept of incorporating more casein because of its superior characteristics, has pretty much been accepted by the community. You can still use it and I do at times and it will work. Hope this helps.
Before we get too psyched (and I hate to
rain on this parade), this aromatase
inhibitor, how specific is it? Is it just
a CYP450 inhibitor (this alone might
make it dangerous)? We need more info.
Now this plant might be awesome but if the
result is anything like aminoglutethimide,
I won’t EVER use it nor let my clients.
Fucks up mineral and corticoid metabolism
too much.
Brock
Good point Brock and that’s what I was saying, there just isn’t enough research completed yet. The mechanism of action isn’t clear.
