What kennel is that out of? Is that west coast or east? Have you tapered his ears already?

Grandson and granddaughter out of Florida blue pit kennel. The exact name escapes right this second. Bully bloodlines are supposed to be excellent. My first pit, btw.
As mentioned I’ve got 3 razors edge pits. I’ve been aound dogs -most of 'em big -my whole life. I’m a dog guy and make dog friends wherever I go. With that I’ve never been around a more goofy, funny, loyal, loving, or more awesome breed than a pit. They are the ultimate dog and I will never be without one again. They are the shit.

Duh…name him Sen Say…that way MP can get her kicks when he’s watching you two foolin’ around…

MP: Oooo Push…I love when Sen watches…
P : Mmmmmf

I’d go with Surge.

The name works on a few levels.

Oh yeah, his name will come to you man. It took me a few days to figure out each of my dogs names, but when it hit me I knew it and they fit 'em like gloves. Your boy will be the same way. Enjoy him man, he looks awesome.

He’s awfully cute. I have never seen a blue pit before. I love blue dogs in general–I would LOVE to have a blue Dane someday. Though I did promise my husband no more dogs after our current Dane and Chihuahua live out their natural lifespans…we also have a lue roan paint mare named Sapphire.

My daughter just rescued a pit cross puppy–idiot woman was selling them in the parking lot at Walmart in Missoula and this little guy was about 1/4 the size of the rest, barely moving, and really dehydrated. My daughter took him home and it was touch and go. Bottlefed the poor little guy–he weighed less than a pound at a purported 6 weeks of age. He could not stand up, he was so weak. THe vet was not even sure how old he was, he was so tiny.

Hank (for Hank Williams Jr) is now thriving. She wormed him and he had a TON of worms in his little belly. Bottlefed him for a week or so with puppy replacement milk formula, then switched him to wet food and he is now eating fine on his own. He no longer can be mistaken for a chihuahua.

People oughta be shot for this kind of mistreatment imho. Sad thing is, woman had a couple of scrawny, filthy half naked kids as well as the puppies. A lot of people around here sell puppies out of parking lots, and they are almost always WAY too young to be away from their mothers, six weeks or even YOUNGER! Drives me up the wall.

Luckily for Hank, my daughter’s Akita/lab cross (who is spayed btw) took to him and treated him like her own puppy, licking him and carrying him around. Hopefully his social development will not suffer since he has two big dogs to pal around with.

Anyway, about the name, I like short, one or two work syllable names for dogs, something that is easy to shout out and does not sound like an insult to the neighbors.

A friend of mine grew up with a poodle named Dammit. Because, Dammit, they were not going to get another dog when the last one died. She was embarrassed to go out and shout for Dammit to come…

My current dogs are Seamus (the Dane–pronounced SHAY-mus) and Cujo (the chihuahua). Both dogs came with their names and we just kept them.

Your guy looks like a Nick to me, aka Old Nick, aka Beelzebub.

that’s an adorable pup push! my girl and i were about 99% of the way to buy a Pit puppy last week until we hear from our landlord…no go. :frowning: we’ll still get one later on…but we got a Beagle instead. That’s Cooper. we’ve had him for about a week today. Beagle #2 of the family.

Good luck with your pup! It’s fucking awesome!

Thats a good looking pup B rock!

I have an Australian Shepherd and I was planning on getting a Beagle also. Time will tell.

How is the little guy treating you?

He’s doing great. This is the 2nd beagle we have and we love them. Smart & Goofy.

people actually breed the most euthanized dog?

Yeah, pretty dumb. You can find at least 10 of them at any shelter in the country. Pups too.

Normally I’m all for dog rescue, but I think this breed is the last one that I would risk getting a mistreated pup.

If treated well, they’re big sweet meatheads, but even still their power is ridiculous.
The one in my avatar was mistreated badly. Very badly. She has been w/me for a couple of mos now and outside of the occasional snap over food w/my other 2 she is awesome. I wanted to find her a good home thinking I wouldn’t want another pup running all over the place. Now I can’t see ever parting w/her, she has become just as much part of my family as the other 2.

Name him PLATE.

I live in rural Montana and honestly don’t know whether any rescue services exist in this state. I wanted a pup.

I’ve raised and bred dogs for many years and enjoy training them. I’ve never had a misbehaving dog. They have all been obedient troopers. Have had several Rotts and Dobies and even bred a full bred Dobie to my full bred Rott bitch twice precisely because I like well muscled, athletic dogs (I ended up owning four males out of those two litters).

Three of the four were absolutely outstanding specimens. Had their ears cropped and they looked liked Dobermans who read and practiced the mantras of T-Nation. When I’d run the three of them (one died an early death in accident) through the woods behind my dirt bike, snowmachine, or horse, they looked like black land sharks (searching for tuna…ah, had to slip in some innuendo and double entendre).

When I had to put down my last Rott/Dobie this past winter due to old age and sickness (sad story - I did it myself) I thought I might try a different breed. But I still wanted muscle so I am giving the pit breed a go. The breeder showed me an one year old aunt of my pup yesterday and she looks beautiful. I did not make the trip to the kennel due to time/distance constraints (breeder met me halfway). Kennel is nine hour drive from my place.

I like the broad chests and powerful builds of this type (bully) pit. What would one expect? This muscle thing is part of my life.

Haven’t paid for his papers yet as initially I thought I wouldn’t want to mess with studding him out. Then the breeder told me a stud fee for a good looking dog like this would typically run $800 - $1500 so am now having second thoughts and may pay the additional $200 for the papers.
I hate that these dogs get a bad rap as “mean dogs” or “junkyard dogs” because scumbags mistreat them.

I’ve seen a shitload of all these types of dogs that, when trained, are terrific pets. It’s the people that suck, not the dogs.

BOSS.

i lived with 3 pits for a while and they were all awesome. none of them were mine, i was at college and 3 of my roommates had pits, 2 were brothers and the other wasnt related but they all got along great. i would take them for walks and such and if they started pulling they would pull, 3 of the strongest dogs id ever been around. Damien, Aeries, and Capone.

I have a mix of golden retriever and german sherpherd. I constantly get stopped and told shes the most beautiful dog people have ever seen. her name is maggie, it was meghan when we got her but changed to maggie. We saved her from a kill shelter and are pretty sure she was abused before we got her. I love the mix because she protects my mom and I with her life but has yet to bite anyone which is good. She once trapped a robber in the corner until i got there.

Also its strange, if we are with her she will attack any other dog that comes around. But when my friend house/dog sits she takes her to dog parks and everything and she just plays. Kinda sad bc she cant have fun with other dogs if were around bc shes too worried about us. End rant sorry. lol

Push,
Have you thought of Cooter as a name?

I am partial to Dollarbill too.

Aren’t beagles pretty infamous for nonstop barking? Why wouldn’t your landlord let you get a pit?

Friend of mine named his dog that.

He’s not what you would call subtle.

Come on now man. If you’re going to name a dog after a drug, name it after a fucking DRUG. That’s like naming your dog “Anavar” or even "Ortho Tri-Cyclin.

Glad to hear “Tren” is at the top of your list, Push.
