The parlous state of NHS dentistry was exposed yesterday.
Such is the shortage of state-funded dentists that one in 20 patients has resorted to DIY treatment, in some cases pulling out their own teeth
I didn’t know they had dentists over there.
Dentist has the highest rate of suicide of any job. Being a dentist, in short, must suck something awful.
I lived in the UK for three years. I signed on to the dentist registry when I arrived, and after three years, left the country without seeing an NHS dentist. I actually went to the Continent and paid out of pocket for a cleaning.
As bad as the medical side can be over there, I do have to admit that my wife had an emergency surgery needed to save her life and the care we experienced was top notch. We were told by locals that if her condition was not so urgent, she may have waited some time for her surgery. Months or more in pain. Still, I can’t complain as I only have our experiences to go by.
The dentistry there “is” out of whack though, per my personal experience.
For those that keep wanting Hillary-care or worse, keep these things in mind.
