Lol weed is a gateway drug in the same way that protein powder is a gateway to steroids. Everyone starts with simpler substances. Also, overdose rates in states that legalized weed have dropped significantly, so the opposite is probably true.

marijuana is good at combatting chronic pain, people also use opiates for chronic pain, opiates kill if you take too much, marijuana doesnāt (well there was one case where a guy jumped out of a window from a psychotic fit, but itās very rare) but thatās probably why overdose rates have dropped where itās legal. Therefore with marijuana legalised more people will use that instead of opiates. That is one good thing about legalising marijuana, another plus about legalising it is that (Iām not up to date on this topic but) apparently some marijuana in America comes from Mexican cartels, if it is legal and regulated by the government the cartels will make far less money off it. Finally it will generate lots of tax revenue. That being said, even if it was fully legal everywhere I still wouldnāt touch the stuff, but thatās my preference.
DEA scheduling is the Crux of your initial post. Marijuana is a schedule 1 controlled substance. Are you saying DEA scheduling is the hard and fast rule or that we should be able to do what we think is right? Youāre confusing me.
