Ok. Thats all good. I was just trying to clarify the meaning and use of the word Placebo.
I’m actually ok with ordering the beef only or a double cheeseburger and ditch the bun and sauces.
I’m partial to the carnivore crowd in some cases!
I bought a box of LaRa Bars blueberry muffin which scanned as excellent.
The ingredients are blueberries, apples, cashews, dates and vanilla.
Seems pretty damn legit to me.
Yes, they are still processed.
They have basically no taste to them, maybe it’s the dates, IDK. I’ve only ate 1 so far.
I actually put natty PB on it and ate it pre workout.
Maybe not having much taste to it, makes it a healthier bar? Celery has no taste but is a great food!!!
This bar also has more carbs than protein because it’s mostly fruit, it ain’t no candy bar.
For a muffin, yes.
You can eat whatever bars you want, no one is arguing that.
But I’m not going to call this
A protein source. Make sense?
BUT..BUT its beef flavored! So it has beef in it.
None of these bars are really protein sources IMO.
I’ve stated that from the beginning of this thread.
Beating a dead horsie…………
Totally agree with you. Protein bars can be helpful once in a while, especially when you’re short on time and need something quick before or after a workout. But at the end of the day, most of them are just candy bars with added protein, full of processed sugar and other unhealthy ingredients. They shouldn’t replace real meals. I always feel better eating something simple and whole, like chicken and rice or eggs. Bars are fine occasionally, but whole food will always win for nutrition and recovery.
@sweatandsmile when I had to spend several days in a conference. I wore my fanny pack and loaded it with Pecans and almonds. While everyone else ate the provided skinny popcorn and other nonsense.
I kept the Cliff bars in my hotel room and ate them right before my hotel fitness center lifting!
Epic, nice find!
Dead horse bars are awesome! Very high protein.
I didn’t even know about those!
I was thinking like traditional mongolian or pemmican!
I actually found a pretty tasty REAL protein snack, easy to carry in the fanny pack and easy tin to open-
Bumble Bee hardwood smoked oysters!!!
I can even eat them as a finger food, just keep some napkins in the fanny pack.
Those things are awesome. Great with cheez-its, even better with a nice sharp cheddar.
