@highpull The MRI showed a small half liquid, half solid adenoma on the pituitary gland.
That explains the prolactin creeping up in the last 2 years.
I’ll start with cabergoline and do another MRI next year to see how it evolves. If it doesn’t shrink in 2 years time, I’ll remove it as I don’t want to be on cabergoline for the rest of my life.
Let us know how it goes. My prolactin was 30 last time it was tested… if it doesn’t go down on the next round of tests the doc mentioned me possibly having an MRI to see if something is going on.
I’ve never seen mine under low 20’s, so I won’t be surprised if it’s still 30 or so. We’ll see in a week I guess. I’ve been thinking about doing one prolactin test after abstaining for a couple of days and one as close to after as I can just to see how much of an increase that causes.
The 30 result was after waiting at least 3 days though, so shouldn’t have been impacting it
I’ve started experimenting with some levothyroxine to see if that has any effect on my prolactin. Once I get my numbers at the top of the range for free T3 I will retest the prolactin.
