530 off the floor, and only with a deadlift bar or Olympic bar. With a stiff bar, 500, and that’s a real grinder.
The reason my RDL numbers are so high is two-fold.
This is, by far, my favorite exercise and I have worked it extremely hard over the years.
The way I do RDLs is unique. It’s an RDL in the sense that I take the weight off the hooks and perform the exercise “from the top”, initiated with a hip hinge, with a slow turn(no pins or blocks) to reverse the rep, and I perform the reps continuously, without pause. Some would say it is not a true RDL because my hips travel back quite a bit and I reverse the rep at knee height, verses just below. Imagine rack pulls from knee height, without touching the pins, done for high reps.
I don’t do them this way as an ego trip. I started doing them this way years ago after suffering a horrible squat injury that prevented me from full-ROM squatting and deadlifting for a looooong time. Doing them this way allowed me to still move some big weights pain free. Over time, I was able to work back down to a parallel squat, but have never been able to return to pulling from anywhere below the knees pain-free. I can do it, it just royally sucks.
I’ll post a vid next time I do them in 10-14 days.
@Professor_Hulk : Funny seeing your response as I was just reading an article on Hulk being in the new SheHulk show haha. I ended up going up to 750mg. Can’t say I see a huge difference over 500mg. I’m going to go one more week and then knock to 500mg and add in oxandrolone 50mg split twice a day to finish the cycle. I’ve stalled too. I can say I don’t think my calories have been as high as they should be, if I was to add more cleaner I think I would see more of a difference. I do feel better mentally without the NPP. I may try again in the future but not until next year. I’m 5’8", was hoping to hit 200 lbs before a cut but I’m starting my cut when I start the oxy next weekend, I’m in around 192 right now. Lifts have been good, pumps great. No new PRs to speak of this blast but I’ve been concentrating on form and attacking a few weak areas. Arms have hit 17 1/4" and shirts don’t fit so something must be working, but I’d like to see a better reflection looking back at me from my mirror haha. I do take 0.125 anastrozole 2-3x per week. I feel better after taking it, my E2 is high on TRT dose if I don’t take anything so I’m sure it’d be crazy high. How are you doing on your blast?
Dude I’m SUPER PSYCHED about SHE HULK! Hoping that strong female super hero will inspire the younger generation of ladies to start training heavy. I’ve been trying to get my two daughters to lift with me forever.
Surprised you’re not feeling much from 750. That’s a genuine blast! I’d love to try that some day. Congrats on achieving 17 1/4 guns at 5’8” 192 man! That’s pretty friggin impressive!
As I said, progress has stalled for me on 400. I’m eating a mostly clean 5,000 a day and holding steady at 220, give or take. When I strip the fat, I’ll likely be a lean 190-195. Not bad, but had hoped for more. I’m only at about 8 weeks on cycle right now and trying to figure out what to do with these last 4 weeks. Not quite ready to shut it down yet.
I’ve read over and agin that the most anabolic part of any cycle is food, but I really don’t see how I can get any more food down in a day right now, unless I start drinking garbage calories. I’m already eating three huge meals and drinking three huge shakes a day.
NPP and I are on a break. She really ticked me off this time. I’ve only got enough T for 400/wk, training intensity is already off the charts. The only remaining variable is training volume. So, I think my next move is slightly less intensity and more volume for these last 4 weeks.
I don’t think adding these in would hurt. Especially if 90% of your calories are coming from real food.
VERY easy to make a 1000 calorie shake that taste amazing.
Whole milk, oat meal, peanut butter, bananas, protein powder, BAM! Super easy to down calories. Could even use the protein powder that takes longer to digest, casein maybe? And have it at night and give your body something to munch on while sleeping.
I need to do this, only thing keeping me from doing it is cleaning the damn blender every day. Sucks mane.
IDK, if professor hulk is actually eating 5000 calories a day, I think adding another 1000 would just add fat? Maybe I’m wrong, but that is what would happen to me.
Yea for sure! I was just reading and noticed he said “idk how to get more food in”. I saw he said he was already having 3 shakes a day. I kinda took it as he was wanting to add more calories, I was not advocating for more.
So
1 of 2 things is happening, he’s either making shakes with water and protein, which is like 250 calories, or he’s making 1,000 calorie shakes like I mentioned and he sucks at eating real food.
I assumed it was the shakes and water so I just threw out a shake idea for more calories.
The 5000 per day is already a pretty big surplus. It is causing me to gain about 1/8” a week on my waist. Not really looking to add more calories. Going to try lower intensity, more volume for these last few weeks. Jim Wendler’s Boring But Big appeals to me. Love the simplicity of it.
LOL at this! Please believe me when I say, I do not suck at eating real food and my shakes are definitely not water and protein powder. Anyone close to me would laugh if they read your post.
Yeah I’m psyched too. I’m a huge Hulk fan. I have a pretty impressive signed collection of Hulk comics in my home gym!
I’ve made gains but not as good as I would have liked, but I think it’s self inflicted from not being as strict with my macros as I need to be. 5,000 kCals a day has got to be a damn chore. I couldn’t do it without full shakes. I’m going to hold on NPP for a while too. The way it hit me I think I would have rather have taken my chances with Tren. I agree with your higher volume approach. Straight bodybuilding high volumen and just beating the crap out of the muscle may be the way to go the last few weeks! I’ve had a hard time locking down ego and just concentrating on the pump, that’s how I added some size to my arms and shoulders. 17" would be impressive but I have long muscle bellies so it doesn’t look as good as a smaller arm with rounder heads, but I’ll take what I can get! I’ll keep you posted on the oxi, starting on Saturday! Good luck man, keep it up!
Thoughts: I’m still pretty much stalled out. Since stopping NPP a few weeks back, I dropped 5 or so pounds of subQ water and look a little harder. Strength has stagnated in most of my lifts, except my seated overhead press and a new exercise I just started training, the 18” deadlift. LOVING that exercise, by the way. I’ve bastardized Jim Wendler’s 5/3/1 BBB and been running that for upper body only. Lower body work is still one single top-end set and maybe a back off set.
Moving forward, I’ll be continuing BBB for upper body and pouring all I have into milking the 18” deadlift dry of gains. Brought NPP back in at low dose for these last few weeks to help manage joint and tissue stress of higher upper body volume.
Looking good man, hang in there! Been thinking about adding the NPP back myself, I’m fighting it. I feel like I’ve been stagnant too but every once in a while someone notices I’ve gotten bigger so something must be happening. Tough to notice when you look at yourself every day. I added 50 mg oxandrolone, lowered TC to 650, will lower to 500 next week, and I’ll be at that until I wrap up in five weeks. Oxi has been fine, nothing ground breaking, a little drier looking which is what I think people pick up on. Your arms look similar to mine, long muscle bellies. Harder to hit that lateral tricep without a ton of direct isolation work. Traps looking good my man! Hulk out!
First! Reason for hopping on here today is to share an important discovery I’ve made with everybody. I’ll get to cycle progress and stats another day…
I’ve noticed a lot of guys, like me, struggle with the Test/NPP combo. Some dudes run it with zero issues, but I’ve seen many struggle, like me, to try and find the right ratio Test:NPP. As you can read in my many other posts, I’ve tried several different ratios and overall doses. Most recently, I began this cycle running a 1:1 Test:NPP ratio, at 300/300. Had issues almost immediately, dropped the NPP, and raised Test to 400. Two weeks ago, restarted it very, very slowly (no front load, dosed every day, and only 133mgs/wk). I originally planned to reintroduce it at 200mgs/wk, but decided to approach her very, very slowly and carefully this time. IT WORKED!!! I’ve been on 400Test/133NPP (a 3:1 ratio) for two weeks now and look and feel amazing!!! Traps popped, muscle bellies feel full, no edema, no anger, no headaches, no fatigue, confidence is way up, libido and erections are insane, and no use of AI whatsoever. And yes, noticeably better than on 400Test, alone.
If you’re like me and love NPP, but get bad sides and have struggled to find the right ratio for a cycle, may I suggest finding the max amount of Test you can tolerate well without and AI, and then introducing NPP at 1/3 that dose, with no front-loading and QD dosing. The 3:1 ratio has been magical for me so far. It may be worth a try. Later fellas.
Do you think it is the ratio, or the low dose that has allowed you to run NPP? This is a genuine question, not a passive-aggressive attempt of undermining your statements lol
Either way it is great news… I love nandrolone and it loves me
It doesn’t have to be one or the other. It could be that the ratio is helpful and the low dose keeps sides at bay. If I were to ever run NPP it would be under 200 mg/wk, with test higher. Probably won’t run it though.
You make a great point! This is actually the lowest dose I have ever ran NPP at. Once I end this cycle, I intend to leave NPP where it is and slowly bring Test down. As Test comes down, I should have your answer. But for now, started recomping at this 400/133 dose. Just changed to a recomp diet and it’s going well so far.
