I admit that while I’ve been around for a little while and some guys here refer to me as a vet, I don’t see it that way. This might be one of those times where I’ve kinda proven that to myself. I was always under the impression that primo and var (primo in particular) where just about the safest aas you could use. Yes they are both still suppresive, although less then most other aas. Anavar is 17-aa so there is some liver toxicity but it’s mild in comparison to all other orals. Otherwise I thought them to be very mild. However, a few people have brought up that they are both very rough on you cholesterol levels. I believe your hdl in particular. Could someone point to where this has been mentioned by a credited source. I’m not doubting who I heard it from but I’d just like soem confirmation from a solid place. All the profiles I’ve looked at don’t seem to mention that.

All 17-AA steroids can apparently depress HDL levels by induction of HTGL.

Good luck bro
Since very little offical research is done on AAS with real world dosages, it seems we learn as we go.
Remember 5-10 years ago Deca was supposed to be the end all be all of safe yet powerful AAS? Now it seems it’s accepted as fact that Deca is one of the most supressive roid.
Sust250 was considered the “best” Test now people on this board prefer a single ester.
Bad lipid profile seems to me to be the worst roid side effect.
thanks bbb
"According to the research I?ve looked at, it appears as though the two key determinants of how your cholesterol levels will be affected are whether the anabolic steroid is A) alpha alkylated and B) whether it can aromatize. It seems alpha alkylation plays a bigger role, however
Furthermore, drugs such as oxandrolone, which are 17-AA and non-aromatizing, have also been shown to have detrimental effects on blood lipids. (34)
With this in mind, the safest anabolic steroids to use in terms of cholesterol profiles would be Testosterone and, to a lesser extent, nandrolone and boldenone. Methenolone and trenbolone wouldn?t be as bad either.
The worst would be the steroids that are both 17-AA and non-aromatizing. So, steroids like stanozolol, oxandrolone, and oxymetholone would all fit in this category. Methandrostenolone may be slightly better. Just remember the key determinant is whether or not it is 17-AA."
I took some snipits out of teh article.
I interpreted it as it saying that picking a 17-aa steroid that does’nt aromatize like var and winnie is the worst, one that isnt 17-aa but still doesn’t aromatize like Primo and tren isn’t as bad, and a steroid that isn’t 17-aa and does aromatiz like test as being the best. but I guess we all read things differently. Or I could just be a dumbass and that wouldn’t be the first time

Good post TomC
I scanned the Cy wilson article and the info is (of course) good but he says that methenolone (primo) isn’t a bad choice, but then says to steer clear of non-aromatiseables, and as we know, primo doesn’t aromatise… Oh well, I run my primo with test anyway :)[/quote]
